2024 Kia Optima. In complement to a long variety of standard safety and convenience features, the Kia Optima 2024 portfolio includes two fuel-efficient hybrid variants. The mid-size vehicle is designed to entice buyers away from SUVs. Optima LX, S, EX, EX Premium, and SX trim levels will be available in 2024. The Optima Hybrid and Optima Plug-In Hybrid are only available on the EX.
2024 Kia Optima Design
We still love the Kia Optima 2024 even though some competitors have adopted a Fastback-style body shape. We give it a 7 out of 10 for interior and looks, both above average. The 2024 Optima has a sporty design thanks to the sloping roofline, which resembles a coupe (perhaps the Coupe Lite), and large wheels that fill the holes. It also comes in a variety of vibrant colors, even if many dealers are more likely to cover with browns and grays. The Optima S and SX have the sportier look, black exterior trim, and larger alloy wheels. The Optima’s dashboard is lower and more pronounced than its predecessor, giving it a car-like feel. While it lacks the expressiveness of the previous Optima, the new model has a more user-friendly control structure and an improved exterior.
2024 Kia Optima Interior
The loading space of the Optima 2024 is quite spacious, and the seats are comfortable. Rear seat passengers must remove head coverings. The car’s interior is rated 7 out of 10 overall, with luggage capacity and passenger space, both scoring above average. The front seats of this car are comfortable and well arranged as standard. The driver’s seat features 10-way power adjustment as standard on S models and up, while the EX Premium and SX trims feature additional lumbar support as well.
There are also power passenger seats on the EX Premium and SX Optimas. Rear seat passengers will find a good 35.6 inches of legroom but only 37.8 inches of headroom due to the sloping roofline. Entry and exit become more difficult with lower door openings. Interior materials are really good for the price. It’s nice to have the option of faux leather/fabric trim on the Optima S over the regular cloth upholstery on the LX. EX and SX models come standard with leather seats. Optimas’ standard luggage capacity is 15.9 cubic feet. This has been reduced to 13.4 cubic feet for hybrids and 9.8 cubic feet for Optima Plug-In Hybrids.
2024 Kia Optima Engine
The performance story of the 2024 Kia Optima is complicated. Based on the LX and S models most likely to see in dealerships, we’re giving the range a score of 6 out of 10. The 4-liter 2.4-liter engine produces 185 engines and distributes them to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox in the standard Optima. Although the engine is quiet and smooth, it still manages to provide adequate driving performance in the city. The turbocharged four-cylinder engines in the Optima EX and EX Premium have higher torque (195 lb-ft) but lower horsepower (178 hp).
Unfortunately, the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is prone to confusion at urban speeds, making it a less than ideal option. Thanks to the SX’s optional 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the Optima SX can accelerate even faster. With a 6-speed automatic transmission, it is a great option for those who can afford to buy an expensive, top-notch model.
2024 Kia Optima Release Date And Price
Although the 2024 Kia Optima LX starts at $23,000, it has a lot of high-tech goodies, like a powerful motor, an active security system, alloy wheels, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine, leather seats, heated/cooled front seats, a powerful panoramic sunroof, and adaptive cruise control are all included in the Optima SX’s $33,000 price tag. For the longer model, the same infotainment system is used, but the 10-speaker Harman Kardon is included in addition to the integrated navigation system.

2024 Kia Optima Update
Sales in the sedans category are currently not very hot in the United States. The increasing sales categories were crossovers, SUVs, and trucks instead; However, Kia is preparing for a new model in the class of 2024 Kia Optima Sedan.
Expect a complete redesign underneath. The new Kia Optima 2024 will borrow heavily from the Kia Forte and Kia Stinger. The design will emphasize the slender roof line and wider proportions. The new Optima will have a platform companion, and the Optima 2024 will grow in wheelbase and width.
Inside, the Kia Optima 2024 will feature many of the technologies introduced in the new Sonata, while also providing more interior space. Some features may be limited to higher trims and premium pricing, but technologies like NFC capability, wireless charging, parking assistance, and more should be available alongside a blind-spot display on the dashboard. A redesign of the dash and new materials are also expected.
It’s too soon to know what kind of engine Kia will offer in the 2024 Optima. However, there should be a new or modified four-cylinder engine perhaps with or without a turbocharger. There are also hybrid and PHEV variants expected as well, although they are expected to be released about a year after the gasoline-powered model reaches dealerships.
With sedan sales declining, automakers with lines of heavy-duty sedans need to keep their products fresh. While some automakers are abandoning sedans, such as Ford, Kia still has to compete with Honda, Toyota, and others. The updated Kia Optima could help boost its sagging sales. The Kia Optima 2024 should debut in early 2023 and go on sale after that.

2024 Kia Optima News
The Kia K5 Optima 2024 was released in 2000 as a Korean competitor to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry mid-size sedans. Kia will phase out the Optima brand in 2024 in favor of the world-famous K5 designation. According to Kia, the name change to K5 underscores the model’s differentiation from the departing Optima. The introduction of the Kia K5 2024 comes with a decline in sedan sales in favor of the crossover. However, Kia believes its current model is capable of challenging established brands, such as the Hyundai Sonata, that share the same platform.
Power is sent to the front wheels or optional all-wheel drive on non-GT vehicles via an eight-speed automatic transmission, but power is distributed exclusively to the front wheels on the GT model. Not only are new engines planned for 2024, the K5 also features a bold new design, innovative interior and cutting-edge technology. Two K5s were submitted for review (GT-Line and EX) and we came up with the idea that the mid-size sedan segment might have a new leader.
Kia K5 2024 Redesign
The Kia K5 2024 is the new car that will replace the Optima in 2024. With its distinctive tiger face and stylish stinger cues, the new Kia K5 is even more attractive than the Optima it replaces. The five-level model range is powered by two turbocharged four-cylinder engines – 180 hp 1.6 liters and 290 hp 2.5 liters. Compared to the Optima, the K5 will be available in different trim levels with all-wheel drive.
Drivers and passengers enter a more modern, luxurious cabin equipped with an 8- or 10.25-inch touch screen and a choice of Bose’s 12-speaker audio system. Lane-Tracking Assist and Driver Attention Warning are two technologies included in the Kia Drive Wise package. The functionally hostile front fascia, with its large leopard grille and dramatic LED daytime running lights, as well as the full-width backlighting, looks stunning. The entry-level LX model has standard LED headlights, 16-inch wheels and a front grille in premium silver, while the GT model has 19-inch alloy wheels and GT-Line-inspired design components.
Outback
The interior design of the Kia K5 2024, with its horizontal theme and soft center console, evokes some of Europe’s most expensive luxury cars. While the quality is inferior to an Audi A4 or BMW 3 Series, it does a great job of matching or exceeding that of a similar mid-size sedan in its price range. The entry-level LX comes standard with remote keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, driver attention alert and lane-keep assist. At the top of the range, features like remote start, faux leather upholstery and electrically adjustable seats add to this car’s allure.
In addition, rear parking sensors, safe exit assist and cruise control with stop and go are also available. The cabin of the K5 makes a great first impression on most occasions. While the Kia’s roofline has been lowered compared to the Optima, headroom remains the same due to the removal of the seat cushion. With 35.2 inches more legroom in the rear than the Optima, there’s enough room in the rear for two passengers, or ideal for three. Without a sunroof, headroom for the front seats increases to 40.2 inches, while headroom for the rear seats remains 37.8 inches.
Machine
The base engine of the unrefined naturally aspirated K5 2024 has been replaced by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which is not only quieter but also produces extremely low torque, improving the car’s drivability. This engine, which comes standard on most trim levels, produces 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The GT is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, above the Honda Accord’s maximum output. The car’s sporty power is enhanced by the adoption of a new “wet” two-speed dual-clutch transmission developed in-house by Kia. This ensures a smooth transition.
We missed the more powerful GT model, which will be available later this year, but we did try out two variants of the regular 1.6-liter engine. The engine is not a powerhouse but it is similar to the basic engines of Honda, Nissan and Toyota. The K5 is defined by its eight-speed transmission. Without the rubber feel associated with a CVT transmission, this new box shifts smooth and fast. Although Kia doesn’t offer the K5 with a manual transmission, the eight-speed automatic is noticeably more attractive to drive than the competing CVT transmission.
Kia K5 2024 Release Date And Price
At $23,490, the base Kia K5 2024 is priced lower than the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry at $23,490. LXS $24,490, GT-Line $25,390, and former $27,990. The GT is the tallest model in its range, at $30,490, thousands of dollars less than an Accord or Camry. The LXS costs $2,100 to upgrade to AWD, but it also gets heated seats, while the GT-Line costs $3,700 and includes a premium package. This fee excludes taxes, licenses and registration fees, as well as the $965 destination fee charged by Kia.
