2024 GMC Sierra. The upcoming GMC Sierra HD 2024 will receive a significant facelift next year. According to our information, GM will release new front and back designs, as well as a fully revamped interior and possible engine improvements.
It is also important to note that this truck was supposed to be launched later in 2023, but due to the problems caused by the emerging corona virus and the lack of a superconducting chip, the company had to delay its launch. However, we expect it to start this year, production to continue and the Sierra HD range of trucks to go on sale this year.
2024 GMC Sierra Engine
The engine lineup will not change. However, the GMC Sierra HD 2024 could get more power this time around. The truck range offers a standard 6.6-liter V8 petrol engine with 401 horsepower. Additionally, this engine’s torque is 464 lb-ft. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available, along with standard rear-wheel drive settings and optional all-wheel drive. This engine will produce up to 450 horsepower in the future, which is great to hear.
Optionally, there is the popular 6.6-liter Duramax engine. It’s a turbo version with 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the standard gasoline engine, this one comes with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline unit has a towing capacity of 18,500 pounds. The diesel powertrain, on the other hand, can tow about 35,500 pounds.
2024 GMC Sierra Design
Unfortunately, the upcoming 2024 GMC Sierra is very discreet, as this spy photo proves. With that said, we noticed that the upcoming truck has a new front and rear. The redesigned front grille and revised headlights make the front end noticeably larger. The rear also appears to have been updated with new taillights and bumpers.
Of course, it all depends on what trim level you choose, with the Denali model being the most expensive option available. GM will also offer new exterior colors and more options for top trim levels.
2024 GMC Sierra Interior
The upcoming GMC Sierra HD 2024 has a very comfortable cabin due to the quality of materials used. As of now, every Sierra HD has a standard touchscreen infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, which can be replaced with a much larger one. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included, as is a USB-C port.
The upper trim level will naturally provide more standard equipment. However, the Denali model does come with a premium Bose audio system, a larger screen, leather seats, and more. Unfortunately, the spy photos don’t provide internal details, but we expect to see some major improvements.
2024 GMC Sierra Release Date And Price
Pricing for the new 2024 GMC Sierra will start at $42,000, according to a recent report. This truck will arrive later in 2022, or in the first quarter of 2023. The Sierra 3500HD will cost $1,000 more than the Sierra 2500HD. Choosing a luxury Denali model will cost you more than $70,000.
2024 GMC Sierra Update
The new 2024 GMC Sierra HD will get a major update next year. As far as we know, the manufacturer will introduce new front and rear designs, a completely revised interior, along with potential powertrain updates.
It should also be noted that this truck was originally scheduled for 2023, but due to complications from COVID-19 and the lack of superconducting chips, the manufacturer postponed its production. However, we expect to start this year, and the manufacturer will resume production at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, USA.
GMC Sierra HD 2024 Redesign
Several spy shots are available, and unfortunately the 2024 GMC Sierra HD is heavily camouflaged. However, we see that the upcoming truck will come with a new front and rear design.
First of all, the front end looks more spacious, with a new grille and updated headlights. Also, the rear part looks redesigned, with new taillights and sporty fenders. Of course, it all depends on the model chosen, and you can expect most features to be available in the most expensive Denali models.
More Comfort And Better Technology
Inside, the GMC Sierra HD 2024 has a very comfortable cabin thanks to the high-quality materials. So far, every Sierra HD has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be replaced with a much larger system. In addition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are USB-c ports.
It’s also worth noting that we were expecting a Bose audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system. Likewise, we’ve heard that GMC will add more features to the most expensive Denali.
Engine Specifications: 2024 GMC Sierra HD
Just like its predecessor, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD comes standard with a 6.6-liter gas V8 engine. The engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, it’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For 2024, it is rumored that the 6.6-liter V8 could produce around 450 horsepower thanks to some mapping.
An optional 6.6-liter V-8 Duramax diesel engine will also be available. This engine has so far made 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet, and sends power to the Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. As for towing, the most powerful Sierra 3500HD can carry 7,442 pounds in the cargo area and 35,500 pounds. The Sierra 2500HD, offered on the other hand only with a single rear axle, can tow 3,979 pounds of payload and 18,500 pounds of towing.
2024 GMC Sierra HD Price, Release Date
At the moment, we don’t know the price of the GMC Sierra HD. However, due to the upgrades, we know the price will definitely be higher.
The current GMC Sierra HD starts at $41,995 for the Pro model, the SLE is $47k, the SLT is $56,895, the AT4 is about $65k, and the Denali is more than $71k. As we have said, production of the new model will begin this year, while sales are expected to start in 2023.
2024 GMC Sierra News
The highly anticipated GMC Sierra 2024 HD will receive a redesign similar to the smaller Sierra 1500 pickup truck. The bigger question is whether the Sierra HD will get the same interior design as its younger brother. Now, the first spy shot is here, so we have some answers. However, GMC picked one big surprise, and we’ll get to that in a bit.
The Sierra HD is a very vertical truck, you can use it as a lifestyle truck or as a labour. Plus, it offers everything from the trim level AT4 for off-road driving to the premium version of the Denali. We don’t know if some changes will happen. However, we know a lot about this convergent model, so here’s everything you need to know.
GMC Sierra HD Spy Shot
The spy shot from the 2024 GMC Sierra HD is here. For starters, the spy prototype is PRO trim level wheels. On the other hand, the chrome side mirrors, window sills, and chrome door handles appear to be from the SLT Sierra HD. The grille looks like a Denali, but has so far been seen on almost all Sierra HD prototypes, no matter what trim level it’s rated at.
The prototype also lacks the Denali’s regular trigger panel, which means it’s a lower trim level than the Denali version. It’s a confusing prototype because we don’t know what trim level was spied on. Anyway, some external upgrades are imminent and we can’t wait to see more details in the future.
Fortunately, the new GMC Sierra HD 2024 will borrow a lot of interior touches from its sibling Sierra 1500. The touchscreen infotainment unit is 13.4 inches, which is nice. Aside from that, the dashboard shows the same layout, along with the button settings. Looking at the HVAC slots, it looks like we’re dealing with a basic trim level. However, the touch screen is too large for the entry level model. One big surprise we mentioned is the column shifter.
Models like the GMC Sierra 1500 or Silverado 1500 offer vertical shifters but without the massive 13.4-inch screen. This Sierra HD prototype uses vertical shifters while retaining the larger infotainment touchscreen. GMC could be playing our part. On the other hand, it could be a huge step forward for this heavy duty truck.
Under The Tent
Under the hood, the new 2024 GMC Sierra HD should offer the same lineup of engines. This means that the truck will have the same two engines. The base engine is a 6.6-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. If you want more power, an optional 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel is available.
This engine is capable of producing 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. The 2024MY could bring in more torque, but that’s just a rumor at the moment. Today, the 36,000-pound maximum towing capacity sounds good, but improvements are always possible. As before, you can choose between a 6-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission.
2024 GMC Sierra HD Price, Release Date
We think the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will be more expensive than its predecessor. Therefore, the price should start at $42,000 or slightly higher. Sales will start next summer, and the manufacturer will reveal more details as the official launch date approaches.
