2024 Buick Regal Price Release Date Price And Redesign

2024 Buick Regal. The 2020 Buick GS is a snazzier take on traditional transportation, with various basic luxuries and many available driver assists; but, don’t expect it to totally reproduce the old-school GS experience. Buick used to build muscle cars and other performance vehicles, but the Regal GS is now the sportiest vehicle in its showrooms.

Choosing a 2020 Regal GS is simple, thanks to a powerful V-6 powertrain and standard all-wheel drive. Sport Red is the only free paint color offered, and the other options are less appealing. We’d go with the Appearance and Sights and Sounds options. They include an eight-speaker Bose music system, LED headlights with auto leveling and corner lights, remote start, built-in navigation, wireless phone charging, and other features. There are also a number of optional driver aids available, such as automated emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, but they are only sold in pairs.

A 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque powers every Regal GS. Its engine is paired with a curiously lacking paddle shifters nine-speed automatic transmission. Instead, the shifter situated in the middle of the console is used for manual gear selection. The GS’s standard all-wheel-drive system aids in improved cornering as well as increasing traction in slick weather. Unexpectedly, the most recent model we tested was only 0.2 seconds faster than our front-drive, four-cylinder Regal to reach 60 mph.

The three selectable drive modes—Touring, Sport, and GS—can be used to modify the adaptive dampers that support the GS. The steering effort and response of the transmission are also modified by these adjustments. The GS was brought from 70 mph to zero in a remarkable 164 feet thanks to a pair of Brembo front brakes. While driving this hi-po Regal didn’t exactly set our hearts racing, it was undoubtedly more exciting (though more pricey) than the standard Regal.

According to the EPA, the Regal GS will achieve 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. These figures are very similar to those of all-wheel-drive, V-6-powered competitors like the Acura TLX and Lexus IS. On our 200-mile highway fuel-economy test route, we tested the Buick and obtained 28 mpg, exceeding its EPA rating but falling 2-3 mpg short of the TLX and IS350.

The 2020 Regal GS’s interior has stylish and supportive front seats with heating, cooling, and massage features. Even if the remainder of the cabin is generally muted and some of the materials are uninteresting, a flat-bottom steering wheel and metal pedals give off an air of sportiness.

A snappy 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot are standard on every GS. A head-up display, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system are all desirable extras.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have not conducted crash tests on the 2020 Regal GS (IIHS). Buick offers a reasonable limited warranty as well as superior powertrain protection. While the 2020 Regal GS comes with free maintenance, it only covers one visit.

2024 Buick Regal Redesign

Buick has always been known as an upscale brand that sells high-end cars. Although most of these cars were equipped with work suits, their value did not diminish. To name a few, the Regal has been redesigned and is now 100% made in Germany. However, it is not the best car available yet. Is there anything the Regal Sportback can do that no other car can?

The 2024 Regal is a great choice for a used car. There are two body styles: the Regal TourX wagon and the Regal Sportback hatchback. Powerful engines, a smooth ride and plenty of storage space are included in both models. There are many cheap plastics in the cabin, and fuel economy estimates are low. Plus, Buick isn’t quite as fast as some of its competitors, and it’s expected to have the highest lifetime cost of any midsize car.

If you ask some people, the new Regal looks more like a European car than an American one, and it’s either refreshing or a little unattractive, depending on your point of view. We think it looks just as handsome when paired with the 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with tech gray accents and large silver fog lamps surrounding them. The GS’s smooth lines hide a hatchback-style tailgate. The rear spoiler makes the rear of the GS look like a cross between the Lexus IS 350 and BMW M2.

Exterior features include daytime running lights, automatic on/off and delay, automatic halogen headlights, as well as automatic on/off and daytime running lights. There are no filament lights in the taillights. Heated and auto-dimming side mirrors are available. However, we do not know if it will be enough to entice young people to buy it.

2024 Buick Regal Interior Rumors

The seat on the 2024 Buick Regal GS is sleek and supportive, with heating, cooling and massage capabilities. The flat-bottom steering wheel and alloy pedals convey a sporty impression, though the rest of the cabin is fairly simple and some of the materials are unremarkable. As with the standard Regal, the rear seats and trunk area are perfectly proportioned. Seven carry-on bags and 12 additional bags (19 total) fit in the rear seats when folded. We couldn’t do that in the trunk of the TLX and IS350 sedan.

In addition to a speedy 8.0-inch touchscreen and mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, every GS comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A head-up display, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system are all desirable alternatives.

2024 Buick Regal Powertrain Specification Performance

Here, you won’t find a turbocharged four-cylinder. The GS is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 282 pound-feet of torque at 5200 pm. When cruising, most of the engine’s power is directed to the front wheels, but if necessary it can be transferred to the rear wheels using a dual-clutch all-wheel drive system. A nine-speed automatic transmission and smooth power increase from the V6 keep the 3.6-liter engine well within its powerband, making you think you’re not going too fast.

The 2024 Buick Regal GS unravels when paired with its naturally aspirated V6 engine and all-wheel-drive powertrain. Competitors like the Chevrolet Malibu and Audi A5 have turbocharged engines that help increase gas mileage, while the GS paid for its bulky road bike. Due to the engine’s peak nature, the EPA estimates the Regal GS at 19/27/22 mpg city/highway/combined. The Chevy Malibu gets 22/32/26 mpg with the 2.0-liter turbo and front-wheel-drive layout, while the Buick LaCrosse gets 25/35/29 mpg with the 2.5-liter inline-four in the base configuration. In the 3.6-liter AWD variant, it drops to 20/29/23 mpg.

2024 Buick Regal Release date And Price

2024 Buick Regal GS is the most expensive model in the Regal line. The entry-level FWD 2.0T costs $25,370, while the top-of-the-line General Service is $39,070. The GS is $13,700 more than the base model Regal after taxes, registration fee, and $925 destination fee. Buick faces challenges as it approaches the $40,000 mark as many competing automakers offer better products at the same price. A 5.7-liter V8-powered Dodge Charger R/T costs just $36,395, but a Honda Accord 2.0T Touring costs only $36,250—undoubtedly a more dynamic car despite its power, at a price that’s about less. $2,820.

2024 Buick Regal Update

Wagons may not be as popular as they once were, but they’re still alive and kicking. Based on the Regal Sportback sedan, the Buick Regal TourX is one of the newer entries in the segment, and offers many of the strengths that have made wagons a desirable form of family transportation over the years. The 2020 Buick Regal TourX is like a crossover in that it offers generous amounts of cargo space. However, as with all wagons, the Regal TourX rides closer to the ground than typical SUVs. One advantage of this distinction is that it has a lower, easier-to-access roof rack than the crossover. The 2020 Regal TourX also delivers the quiet cabin you’ve come to expect from Buick, and its sculpted exterior design is sure to win some fans.

Unfortunately, the major driver assistance features aren’t available with the base model Regal TourX. You need to move up to the Preferred model to access amenities like blind-spot monitoring, and this is the trim level we’d recommend to the average buyer. The Regal TourX Preferred rides on 18-inch wheels and comes with exterior features such as fog lights, integrated roof rails, automatic headlights, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Inside its cabin, dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, as well as tech amenities including a Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Adding the Driver Confidence Package ($1,240) brings features like auto-leveling LED headlights, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring. A preferred model with this package goes for $35,135.

Engine, Transmission And Performance

All 2020 Buick Regal Torxs are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine serves up 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels. During our track test, the 2018 Regal TourX sprinted from zero to 60 mph in a respectable 6.4 seconds. The Buick wagon quietly goes about its business, transmitting very little noise into the cabin. The Regal TourX offers 5.8 inches of ground clearance, which isn’t impressive. If you’re looking for an off-road companion, you’ll be happier with a competitor like the Subaru Outback. The Subaru Wagon provides 8.7 inches of clearance for those times when you want to explore the off-road.

Fuel Economy And Mpg In The Real World

Estimates by the EPA, the 2020 Buick Regal Torx achieves mileage of 21/29 mpg city/highway. That makes it a less fuel-efficient option than competing models like the Outback (up to 26/33 mpg) and the Volvo V60 (23/34 mpg). In our time with the car, we’ve noticed fuel economy of 22 mpg.

Interior, Comfort And Cargo

Buick is a premium brand that goes beyond a mainstream brand but is a step below the traditional luxury nameplate. Its place in the pecking order is reflected in the appearance of its cabin. The overall look of the interior is upscale, but not quite as luxurious as a cabin made by a traditional luxury brand like Audi or Volvo. You’re not likely to be disappointed with the Regal TourX’s cargo capacity. With all seats in place, this stroller offers a generous 33 cubic feet of space for your luggage. Fold the rear seat flat and this swells to 74 cubic feet.

Information, Entertainment And Communication

The base Regal TourX is equipped with features such as an infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touch screen, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration are here to help you seamlessly connect your devices. Also, all models come with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and dual USB ports. The list of optional features includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, integrated navigation, and satellite radio.

Safety And Driver Assistance Features

The 2020 Buick Regal TourX has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, the 2019 model earned an Excellent score of Good in the small overlap frontal, moderate frontal, and side crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Regal TourX offers a modern suite of optional driver-assist features, but the list of industry-standard amenities is almost nonexistent. Also, the base model isn’t available with the driver-assistance technology that has become standard equipment for many car shoppers. You have to step up to the more expensive trim levels to access these features. Key safety features include:

Warranty And Maintenance Coverage

The Regal TourX offers warranty coverage on par with the Subaru Outback. Buick comes with a longer powertrain warranty than the Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo V60, but both models carry longer limited warranty coverage than the Regal TourX.
