2024 BMW X7. The new BMW X7 gives the imposing luxury SUV an even bolder look, a redesigned cabin, and a host of new tech including a radical infotainment overhaul and new mild-hybrid engines in X7 40i and X7 40d flavours. Oh, and there’s also a new X7 M60i high-performance model with 530hp to take the fight to the likes of the Audi SQ7. If you thought BMW’s obsession with huge grilles was weird, just check out what it’s done with the new X7’s headlights.

The car’s adaptive LED headlights set it apart from the competition. You can clearly see the front and rear LED fog lights. Underneath the vehicle, you’ll find a false diffuser, adaptive brake light, and dual exhaust ports. Roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, and 19-inch wheels are all standard. Wheels with a diameter of 20 and 21 inches are also available. Shadowline exterior trim and an M Sport body package are added to the 2024 BMW X7 for an even more aggressive look. Only the matte black carmine can be seen with red brake calipers and vertical grille slats. The 22-inch alloy wheels are given a darker shade of black.
2024 BMW X7 Interior
As expected, the interior of the 2024 BMW X7 is anything but beautiful. The i8’s interior is top notch, even if it pays homage to BMW’s traditional cabin. Behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel is a 12.3-inch touchscreen for driver information and convenience. The M50i’s leather seats are covered in genuine Vernasca leather rather than the more common SensaTec synthetic leather. The Black Vermilion cockpit is decked out in black and red and has glass controls. With the help of a comfortable and supportive chair, any model can be turned into a home. Heated seats are standard on all X7 models.
2024 BMW X7 Engine
The 2024 BMW X7’s 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine makes 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque when equipped with AWD. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 48-volt mild-hybrid electric powertrain that allows it to share the transmission’s power with the rest of the series. Unlike the xDrive variant, the xDrive40i has two axles sharing power.
The xDrive40i’s drivetrain components are identical to those of the Black Vermilion engine. From rest, they can generate power that doesn’t seem sluggish, but pushing it to the limits of its rev range can be challenging. Like the M6 and X7, the M50i is available with all-wheel drive.
2024 BMW X7 Release Date And Price
In 2024, the base sDrive40i variant of the 2024 BMW X7 Series will cost $58,900. The AWD xDrive40i variant sells for $67,700 in the United States. There are no additional fees or incentives required to purchase the xDrive45e hybrid variant. The xDrive40i Black Vermilion platform costs $82,300 less than the X7 M50i’s $82,800 price tag. A $7,500 tax credit is available to those who purchase xDrive45e. Even though our online configurator was completed, the BMW X7 cost us over $100,000, including destination fees.

2024 BMW X7 Update
The 2024 BMW X7, a luxury three-row SUV, is the perfect BMW for transporting affluent families. While the BMW’s rear seat and cargo area aren’t as large as rivals like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, it still has better driving dynamics and an excellent engine range. They range from a 375-horsepower turbocharged inline-six to a 523-horsepower twin-turbo V-8, the latter making 630 horsepower in the top-tier, maximum-performance Alpina XB7.
All models have adjustable air suspension for a comfortable ride and all-wheel drive. The interior of the 2024 X7 is subdued, but it’s also loaded with sophisticated materials and cutting-edge technology, like the massive curved glass display on the dashboard. BMW’s largest cars are among the best thanks to these features, the X7’s towing ability and various standard active safety measures.
What’s New In The 2024 BMW X7
The 2024 X7 mid-cycle overhaul adds a more dramatic front fascia, a new dashboard with a large digital screen, and BMW’s latest infotainment system. In addition, BMW’s largest SUV includes new driver assistance technologies and more standard amenities. A pair of 23-inch wheels will be available from BMW for the first time. The X7’s revised powertrain is also a feature.
The turbocharged inline six in the xDrive40i now produces 375 horsepower and up to 398 lb-ft of torque (an increase of 67). The hybrid system’s 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged and 48-volt V-8 now go by the names M50i and M60i respectively, and they’re said to be a more efficient combination. The M60i makes 630 horsepower, 18 horsepower more than before, but the standard Alpina XB7 offers a more powerful blend.
While we love the power and incredible performance of the twin-turbo V8, we still recommend the X7 xDrive40i. Attractive features include four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, power front seats with preset settings, heated seats, a power tailgate, and other desirable standard amenities. We’ve also added the Premium package, which comes with a head-up display, gesture controls, and soft-touch doors, as well as one of the Vernasca’s leather interior options.
2024 BMW X7 PerforMance – Engine, Transmission & More
The base model of the 2024 BMW X7 xDrive40i includes a 375-hp turbocharged inline-six, while the M60i has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 making 523 hp. A specially modified version of the V-8, with 630 horsepower, was used in the Alpina XB7. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are paired with all three engines. Every BMW X7 features traction control with adaptive damping, available rear axle steering and active anti-roll bars that reduce body roll can further improve the chassis. The M60i, which by default has a steeper suspension configuration, comes with these two functions as standard. The smallest X7 wheel has a diameter of 21 inches, but for the first time BMW also offers 23 inches.
The inline-6 is the most cost-effective option for the 2023 X7. The EPA gave the xDrive40i a score of 21 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. A V-8-powered M60i variant rated at 16 mpg city and 21 mpg highway will require more frequent trips to the gas station.
Cargo, Comfort And Interior Design In The 2024 BMW X7
The X7’s dashboard is occupied by a large, slightly curved digital screen. The dash features a 14.9-inch touchscreen that controls the infotainment system as well as a 12.3-inch dashboard for the driver. The cab is also equipped with several luxury options, such as heated front seats, panoramic sunroof, steering wheel, and ambient interior lighting.
Still, we were frustrated by the slow movement of the sturdy second-row captain’s seats as we tried to let passengers in and out of the third row. Likewise, during long trips, the street back seats aren’t too big for people. However, no one will complain about the X7’s generous internal storage space.
Connectivity And Information In The 2024 BMW X7
The 14.9-inch touchscreen integrated into the curved glass panel above the dash is the main interface for the X7’s infotainment system, which uses the latest iDrive 8 software. In addition, the system can be controlled using a fairly large rotary knob on the console and minimal gesture controls exhausting.
Every X7 is equipped with Wi-Fi and a BMW Digital Key, which allows customers to operate the vehicle’s features remotely using a smartphone app. Optional features include wireless charging and more powerful Harman/Kardon audio.

2024 BMW X7 News
A three-row SUV, the BMW X7 is the ultimate car for transporting affluent families. The Bimmer may not have as much rear legroom as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer or Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, but it drives better and has more powerful engine options. Top of the line, the most powerful Alpina XB7 draws 630 horsepower from a twin-turbo V-8, a series of engines that began with a 375-horsepower turbo-6. All cars have deluxe adjustable all-wheel drive and air suspension. The 2024 X7’s cabin is quiet and comfortable, but it’s also loaded with high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology, such as the large curved glass screen on the dashboard. The X7 is one of the best large BMWs because it can tow a lot of weight and has plenty of active safety technology.
The 2024 BMW X7 has been refreshed mid-cycle with a new front fascia, a larger digital instrument cluster and BMW’s own infotainment system. More is standard on BMW’s largest SUV, and there’s also new driver-assistance technology. BMW was the first manufacturer to offer 23-inch wheels. The new engine and transmission bring even more improvements to the X7. In the xDrive40i, the turbocharged inline-six engine produces 375 hp (40 increase) and 398 lb-ft of torque (67 increase). Terminology for the V-8 has been changed from the M50i to the M60i, and it now uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine and a 48-volt hybrid system. The best-in-class Alpina XB7 uses a more powerful configuration than the M60i, producing 630 horsepower.
2024 Design Of The BMW X7
When the X7 debuted, the 40i xDrive and M60i versions were met with some criticism. Like the original M3 and M4, the initial reaction to the front end was detrimental. The good news is that the reality is not so dire. Yes, the nose is big and striking, but the camera angles can make it look more exaggerated. The split headlights on both the BMW and M versions pay more attention to how evenly dark the car takes on the SUV’s appearance.
The X7 is still a nice SUV. Even with the wide (and optional) 23-inch wheels, this car still looks proportional. We’re also told that this is the first BMW to feature wheels of this size. Fortunately, ride quality in SUVs isn’t affected by this, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
In 2024, new front and rear fascias will be introduced. In our opinion, the 40i’s trim is where this update shines, especially with the chrome work to break up the monotonous front end. The new 3D taillights are accompanied by our favorite detail, the chrome strip. In the end, that’s what the aesthetics will stand for: It’s impossible to judge the X7 without seeing it in person.
If you aren’t attracted to the M60i’s unique M Marina Bay Blue metallic paint, other options from BMW Individual will be more than enough. The BMW X7 comes in fourteen exterior colours, including the new Copper Gray Metallic. With the exception of the matte gray Frozen Pure Gray, these are all metallic and include Ametrine (Red), Dravit Gray, Tanzanite Blue II, and Frozen Pure Gray. BMW offers 40 “off the list” colors for the BMW Individual collection, which you can obtain by placing a special order.
Remote Areas
The interior of the 2024 BMW X7 is highlighted by a large, slightly curved digital display that acts as the main instrument cluster. The dashboard measures 12.3 inches, while the infotainment system is powered by a 14.9-inch touchscreen. Inside there are many upscale amenities, such as heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and mood lighting. However, the powered captain’s seats in the second row were a huge distraction whenever we needed to make room for passengers entering or exiting the third row. Likewise, the cramped rear seats give tall people a little legroom on long trips. The X7 has plenty of storage compartments inside, so there’s really nothing to complain about. We could only fit three small suitcases behind the third row, but the total number came to 33 once the other seats were folded.
With the latest iDrive 8 software, the X7’s infotainment system is primarily controlled via a 14.9-inch touchscreen in the curved glass panel above the dash. A large rotating knob in the center of the console and some eye-catching motion controllers let you control the system. The BMW Digital Key is standard on every X7. With a vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot (subscription required), drivers can remotely access and operate many vehicle features using the mobile app. Wireless charging is standard, and an updated Harman/Kardon stereo is an additional cost.
Machine
The 2024 BMW X7 has two trim levels, each with its own engine options (though both are all-wheel drive). 40i first; It features a vintage BMW engine. A six-cylinder mild-hybrid engine with two turbochargers, producing 375 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. 40 more horsepower and 52 more pound-feet of torque than the previous year’s model. Honestly, the engine is very powerful. It’s also relatively quiet and delivers consistent power all the way to the redline.
The BMW powertrain engineer we spoke to was as enthusiastic as a five-year-old when he described the motor’s 48V hybrid configuration on Christmas morning. The unit’s motor is housed inside the casing of the eight-speed transmission, which ZF manufactured. Everything an ingenious engineer might ask of is within its reach from that point of view. It can be used as a low-end torque filler or, under heavy acceleration, as a torque boost of up to 398 lb-ft. You must pull the left shift paddle for a full second to engage it. In other words, the “basic” model can accelerate to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. Additionally, the 48V system can improve the start-stop system, which is especially important in a high-end vehicle. Indeed, it does, to the point that the effect is hardly visible.
Undoubtedly, the M60i’s new V8 will be the most talked-about upgrade. It has a 48-volt system and a turbocharged 4.4-liter engine. In 4.5 seconds, the M60i can reach 60 miles per hour thanks to its 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The machine has a noticeable turbocharged tone, but the best note comes from within. At highway speeds, it is stately, with little noticeable turbo noise and a deep V8 thrum. The exterior noise isn’t as loud as the interior (BMW pipes noises in), but it sounds OK, and we don’t mind. This is the sound that every X7 should make when driven.
2024 BMW X7 Release Date And Price
