2024 BMW X5. The BMW X5 2024 was introduced by BMW as its most recent innovation last year. It was initially just intended for the Chinese market. This model’s larger wheelbase makes it quite popular in China. This feature has caused discontent in other markets. But the German company made the decision to not disappoint us. There will be three different trim levels for the X5. The M, LCI, and M60i variants are included in this. They all have a ton of modern technology. Additionally included are new mechanical and security features.
We can expect the exterior to change a bit as well. Nothing drastic, it will still look like the X5. But updating it and making it more aggressive should be a good selling point. Recently, these three models were spotted during testing. As usual, the test took place at the Nürburgring. We were able to put together some spy photos and based on that we can see what the upcoming X5 will look like. It will be interesting to see what kind of changes will come. Compared to the previous version, we can expect better technology, a more aggressive look and classic proportions from BMW.
2024 BMW X5 Design
On the outside, not much has changed for the BMW X5 2024. We still get classic BMW style in a big, handsome SUV. Up front, we got a new air intake. This will be vertical. The central grille, which is a staple on all BMWs, has also been changed. It was more intense and aggressive. The headlights are thinner, but not too thin. They are the latest in LED technology. New design alloy wheels with sharp appearance. It is a lightweight alloy to reduce the weight of large SUVs.
The hood still looks sporty as usual. The ride height remains the same and getting in and out of the X5 will not be an issue. The general shape of the body does not change. It’s still comfortable and aerodynamic. The new BMW X5 2024 features the best of German engineering.
2024 BMW X5 Interior
We weren’t expecting some big changes in the interior of the BMW X5 2024. But some tweaks were right. Why not make something better if possible? We are accustomed to luxurious, elegant and technology-rich BMW cabins. This time is no exception. Better seats will be available soon, and you’ll get more cushioning and better lower back support. It can comfortably seat five people, so you don’t have to worry about headroom or legroom. Heated and ventilated seats are a must for the price of this SUV. Nobody says luxury and class as alternative materials. Therefore, apart from the leather and the transparent fabric of the seats, we can expect the use of other materials in the cabin.
For example, chrome or other metals will enrich the dashboard and doors. We recommend using wood as another material that looks good indoors. There is a new sound system coming. The brand is unknown, but it will be a 10-speaker system. There are rumors of a 14-inch touch screen for entertainment and information. Which is not surprising. The cabin is huge, and we want everyone to be able to join in the fun. You get standard connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so there are no surprises there.
The infotainment system will use iDrive 8. The dashboard is also digital, allowing for better customization and tracking of information. There are a lot of security features. There are automatic brake and lane change warnings, to name a few.
2024 BMW X5 Engine
There will be a large number of engines available for the 2024 BMW X5 line in the upcoming restyling. The base part will have a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder, and this smaller engine will generate around 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Not bad for such a large machine.
We also have a PHEV variable transmission. It uses a 4.4 liter V8 engine paired with an electric motor. It has mild hybrid technology but should pack a punch like many hybrids that came before it. It has a 48 volt tuning. The electric motor can boost that with 12 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. There are three twin-turbo engines on offer as well. Their production has different strengths. The weakest 523 horsepower.
The M version has 600 hp, and 617 hp. This puts the new X5 in a position to be the best seller in the current SUV market. They have good pedigree and a famous brand.
BMW X5 2024 Electric Rumors
An all-electric alternative would also be a logical move. Many manufacturers have gone this route. With gas prices continuing to rise and oil supplies dwindling, we were forced to look for other solutions. After all, all indications are that electric motors are the future.
Some manufacturers have gone so far as to only promise electric fleets before 2030. This may be a difficult task, but German manufacturers have invested heavily in electric powertrain research. So it makes sense that we’d get it in the X5 or perhaps in the next generation SUV.

2024 BMW X5 News
The famous medium-sized crossover from Bavaria is about to undergo a facelift. The test mule has been around for a while and the current generation, which has been around since 2018, is getting some updates. From what we can see, the focus is on style, as expected. However, there is also a great opportunity to see new things inside, especially in terms of the new infotainment system. Finally, count on some interesting additions to the list of standard equipment.
Despite the updates, the overall layout will remain the same. This crossover has many great things to offer, from decent powertrain options. We love the high level of sportiness, while the interior feels very luxurious. Finally, the list of standard equipment is quite long. The greater grip, on the other hand, goes to the optional third row, which is very tight. We expect the BMW X5 2023 to arrive sometime in the second half of this year.
2023 BMW X5 Design
The BMW X5 2023 will bring a lot of new things. As mentioned earlier, this will be a typical mid-cycle update and as such, it’s no surprise that the focus is on aesthetics. The test donkeys had camouflage on either end of the car, so we knew what to expect. Both ends should bring only minor changes, although the front end will definitely stand out more. We’re expecting a new headlight interior design, as well as a more robust bumper design, while the grille will also come with a few tweaks.
The rear may also get some minor changes, especially in areas like the taillights, tailgate and rear bumper. Other than that, we relied on typical mid-cycle updates, like new wheels, new color options and the like. On the other hand, the mechanical aspects of the car should remain the same.
Outback
Inside, changes are also possible. This mainly refers to the dashboard design, where we expect to see some revisions inspired by the new BMW iX electric crossover. We assume that the BMW X5 2023 could come with a similarly designed infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. Some additional revisions are possible to the center stack, while the rest of the cabin is expected to remain the same.
Despite the changes, the overall design of the cabin will remain the same. The base model will come with two rows of seats, which are spacious and comfortable. The third line will still be an option but keep in mind that this line is very strict.
When it comes to cargo area, the two-row model offers about 33.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second-row seats and 72.3 cubic feet of total cargo volume, which is pretty good for the mid-size luxury crossover segment.
Advantage
Without a doubt, this update will bring new things in terms of standards and tools available. However, we don’t expect to see much, given that the current model is already impressive in this aspect. It comes standard with goodies like a 12.3-inch touch screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, five USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, and a 10-speaker stereo. The current list of standard equipment also includes keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and ambient interior lighting.
We consider the new standard features a must in our existing list of options. These could be things like remote start, four-zone climate control, 16- and 20-speaker audio systems, Wi-Fi hotspots, wireless device charging, built-in dashboard, hand gesture recognition, etc.
2023 BMW X5 Engine
We expect the BMW X5 2023 to continue with the same engine options on offer. Therefore, the base version should continue with the 3.0-liter inline-six, which produces about 335 horsepower, which seems to be enough for decent driving dynamics. For most drivers, this is the best option, especially if we consider the fuel economy to be very good at around 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Of course, you can also count on the good old 4.4-liter V8, which delivers 523 horsepower in its base version. The same engine is available in the X5 M with 600 horsepower. Finally, there’s a plug-in hybrid version, with 389 horsepower and a range of 30 miles. All engines are connected to a super smooth 8-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date And Price For The BMW X5 2023
The BMW X5 2023 will arrive sometime in the second half of this year, with a starting price of about $60,000. The competition remains the same, especially in the form of the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7.
