2024 Acura RLX. The 2024 Acura RLX, one of the more cost-effective luxury sedans, will soon be available with a touch of class. As far as we are aware, Acura declared last year that it intended to stop producing its premium car after 2024. So, if you’re a fan of sedans, now is your last opportunity to own this particular model. The RLX will aim to compete with vehicles in the same class as the Genesis G70, Lexus IS 300, and Volvo S60, just like the TLX derivative did.
The current model is available with two powerful engines, one of which is a hybrid. The base model uses a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower, while the RLX Sport Hybrid comes with the same setup but is paired with an electric motor.
2024 Acura RLX Design
According to available information, the 2024 Acura RLX will use the same modern design language as the RDX and MDX crossover SUV models. Subjectively, the RLX is a flagship sedan that cannot be burdened with a boring appearance. Measuring a relatively short 198 inches, it’s longer than competitors like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The overall design is attractive, and the sedan is recognizable by its small grille and slender LED headlights. It is also distinguished by the sporty lines on the side profile and attractive 17-inch alloy wheels. In the back, it looks the same as before, with sleek LED taillights and a body-colored bumper.
2024 Acura RLX Interior
The latest 2024 Acura RLX is a sedan that comes with an ultra-modern cabin. Perhaps the best feature of this model is its spacious and comfortable cabin. The front seats are comfortable and supportive, and the rear has 38.8 inches of legroom and approximately 36.9 inches of headroom. The overall interior is fun, and we love the dual-screen infotainment that now supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Unfortunately, the Sport Hybrid’s battery pack eats up the truck’s space, reducing the standard 14.9 cubic feet to just 12.
As standard equipment, the new Acura RLX includes leather seats, 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats, tri-zone climate control, a sunroof, navigation, a 14-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, a USB port and HD Radio.
2024 Acura RLX Engine
The new 2024 Acura RLX will be offered with the same engine as its predecessor. This means that we can again expect the same setup from the two devices. The base model is powered by a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower. It also drives the front wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The RLX Sport Hybrid is a much better option if you’re looking for a more fuel efficient car. This engine uses the same 3.5-liter V6 and two electric motors, one driving each rear wheel. Unlike the base model, this model comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic manual transmission with paddle shifters. The entire system develops 377 horsepower and 341 pound-feet of torque combined.
2024 Acura RLX Release Date And Price
Its flagship sedan, the 2024 Acura RLX, hits the market next year, and features several upgrades. This model is very luxurious and offers a modern and comfortable cabin. Inside, there’s a lot more space than we thought, and the Acura RLX can seat five passengers. Prices start at $54,900, excluding the $1,025 destination fee. The RLX Sport Hybrid costs $61,900, but offers more features and a hybrid system. For reference, the Genesis G80 in the same class starts at around $42,500, while the Audi A6 costs $54,900.

2024 Acura RLX Update
The 2024 Acura RLX Sport is Acura’s biggest sedan ever against the well-established German trio as well as other Japanese competitors from Infiniti and Lexus. The current 2024 Acura RLX model was first introduced in 2014. The 2024 Acura RLX Hybrid’s slightly faceless exterior and outdated tech feature a dual-screen infotainment system that lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Fortunately, the hybrid powertrain is the pinnacle of the 2024 Acura RLX sporting a trio of electric motors and a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine that combine to produce a total system output of 377 horsepower, ensuring a quick lead for the massive sedan.
Redesigned 2024 Acura RLX
The 2024 Acura RLX redesign doesn’t seem to make any major changes over the 2024 model year. There are refreshments to the grille design and the more modern headlights. It is expected that the latest generation of Acura RLX 2024 will be able to offer many modern features inside it.
2024 Acura RLX Exterior
On the outside, the 2024 Acura RLX Sport looks largely unchanged for 2024. While it’s not as aggressive, there’s a bit of the RLX’s over-the-top design, though the update to the previous generation features Acura’s more modern five-diamond grille. There are standard exterior features including Jewel Eye LED headlights, LED fog lights, a power sunroof, folding mirrors, LED-illuminated door handles, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
2024 Acura RLX Dimensions
As a large sedan, the 2024 Acura RLX has very long dimensions, and outshines many of its competitors, such as the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which have a total length of 198 inches. It is 58 inches high by 74.5 inches wide, and has a wheelbase of 112 inches. With its large size, the Acura RLX Hybrid weighs 4,380 pounds, or 403 pounds heavier than the non-hybrid model.
2024 Acura RLX Engine
Loading a powerful engine, a 3.5-liter V6 powered by three electric motors, the 2024 Acura RLX Hybrid makes all-wheel-drive powered with snappy performance. The Acura RLX Hybrid can hit 60 mph in less than six seconds thanks to a combined 377 horsepower and 341 lb-ft of torque.
2024 Acura RLX Hybrid
The VTEC V6 engine alone produces 310 hp. One front-mounted electric motor and two rear-mounted electric motors ensure the 2024 Acura RLX Concept stops quickly and without hesitation.
Driven by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission ideal for a hybrid system with a smooth gearshift feel. The V6 engine that carries it is capable of producing a comfortable and precise sound when pressed. In general, the new Acura RLX Sport rides well both in the city and on the highway.
The Interiors Of The 2024 Acura RLX
On the interior side, the 2024 Acura RLX can accommodate five passengers with an overall spacious and comfortable cabin. Up front, there’s plenty of legroom and headroom for most people, while the rear offers above-average legroom from competitors. Unfortunately, however, the headroom is narrower for adults over six feet tall. A large hump in the center of the floor affects legroom, which for the rear middle seat passengers appears to be tighter.
Overall, the 2024 Acura RLX is a decent car for carrying five passengers. The interior uses premium materials such as the attractively finished leather seats that are comfortable and supportive, besides the driver also has good visibility.
There are plenty of infotainment features inside the 2024 Acura RLX Hybrid but it needs a lot of updating. Some of those features, like the infotainment system’s archaic dual-screen setup, are a far cry from the more modern systems found in competitors. At the bottom of the dashboard is a 7-inch touchscreen, and above it is an 8-inch display paired with a rotary console.
The infotainment system still feels underwhelmed by more than one screen, and the graphics or screen resolution can’t compete with the best. Not only that, there are many other features including Pandora compatibility, HD radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth streaming audio, and MP3 compatibility. It is hoped that the 2024 Acura RLX in this latest generation will offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features that integrate with the smartphone so that it can compete with modern sedans. There is also a voice-controlled navigation feature and a decent sound system is available with a 14-speaker output.
Price Of The 2024 Acura RLX
There has been no official release regarding pricing and when the new 2024 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid will be introduced. If there are no major changes, it is estimated that the price will not be much different from the previous version, and it is likely to be around $63,000 MSRP. Prices shown do not include taxes, licenses, registration fees, and destination up to $1,000.

2024 Acura RLX News
The RLX flies under the radar compared to its flashy competitors and hits the road with a hybrid powertrain derived from supercars. Acura’s low-volume luxury sedan has the class’s main tenants—upscale features and roomy accommodations—but it lacks the wow factor we’d hoped for. It’s easy to overlook the outdated infotainment system and overall cabin design, but the solid build quality and remarkable fuel economy will please any buyer. Along with the standard V-6 engine, there is a unique hybrid model that runs smoothly and accelerates quickly. However, the 2020 RLX is too simple to challenge its hotter classmates.
Acura chose not to make any major changes to the RLX lineup for this year and instead announced that it would discontinue production of the luxury sedan after 2020. The last major update was in 2018, when the company redesigned the beak-shaped grille and added more features that made it into accessible to all. .
There aren’t many reasons to choose the RLX over similarly priced luxury alternatives, but its powerful hybrid system is certainly one of them. Although the Sport Hybrid model costs $7,000 more, it makes the Acura one of the fastest and most fuel-efficient sedans in its class. The update also brings the best contents like 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, remote start and much more. In addition to a few accessories, it complements the options available on the 2020 RLX Sport Hybrid.
Engine, Transmission And Performance
A 310-hp V-6 is standard and comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The regular RLX also has rear steering, which helps improve cornering ability. The Sport Hybrid model pairs a 3.5-liter V-6 with three electric motors that produce a combined power of 377 horsepower. In fact, the hybrid powertrain comes from the one used in the Acura NSX supercar. The Sport Hybrid’s excellent acceleration and smooth operation make it a pleasure to cruise through city streets or speed down the highways. Unfortunately, the RLX feels less sporty in the corners because most of its mass sits up front. While Acura’s all-wheel-drive system (called SH-AWD) is designed to aid handling, it’s not quite as fun on twisty roads as alternatives like the Genesis G80 and Jaguar XF.
Real World Fuel And MPG Savings
The 2020 RLX offers two engine variants with two different sets of EPA fuel economy ratings. The standard V-6 is expected to produce 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. While the final figure remains unchanged for the RLX Hybrid, the city rating has improved significantly. The Sport Hybrid model is rated by the EPA at 28 mpg city, 4 mpg more than luxury alternatives like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6. With that said, we didn’t get a chance to test the Acura sedan on a 200-mile real-world fuel economy test road.
Interior, Comfort And Cargo
Inside the RLX’s well-appointed cabin, occupants will find plenty of room front and rear. Comfortable seating and a long list of standard amenities are sure to please. Leather upholstery, heated, power-adjustable seats, three-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable steering wheel, ambient interior lighting and a power sunroof are available on all trims. While the regular RLX offers up to 15 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, the Sport Hybrid model’s battery pack squeezes that down to 12 cubic feet.
Information, Entertainment And Communication
Every 2020 RLX is equipped with a retro infotainment system displayed across dual screens. While there is a rotary controller and useful physical buttons, the experience is hampered by generic graphics and a lack of contemporary features. A 14-speaker ELS Studio audio system and integrated navigation are standard, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are missing.
The 2019 RLX earned a five-star crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but the 2020 RLX was not named a Top Pick for safety by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, both models have a full suite of standard driver assistance technologies. Key safety features include:
Warranty And Maintenance Coverage
While the 2020 RLX carries a limited warranty and a competitive powertrain, Acura doesn’t offer any kind of free scheduled maintenance. Meanwhile, competitors like BMW and Jaguar have offered impressive periods of praise.
Acura RLX Hybrid
The Acura RLX is a luxury sedan that was offered with a hybrid powertrain option. The hybrid version of the RLX combined a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an electric motor, allowing it to deliver both strong performance and improved fuel efficiency. The RLX hybrid was available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. It was known for its advanced technology features and comfortable, spacious interior.
