2023 Subaru Crosstrek. The present generation of Subaru crossovers has been on the market since 2018, and based on the company’s production cycle strategy, which normally lasts five years, it’s simple to deduce that the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek will be a totally new model. This redesign will undoubtedly bring a slew of additional features, since the business has planned an entirely new architecture for future models.
From what we know so far, this new model will use a completely new platform. Of course, big novelties are expected in other aspects as well, such as style, interior design, new features, etc. Also, we’ll take a look at the new powertrain options, including the hybrid version. The new Subaru 2023 Crosstrek will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.
2023 Subaru Crosstrek Design
As mentioned earlier, one of the most important new things is the new platform developed by Subaru. The new chassis is modular and will be used on all future Subaru models. The first to ride it were the new Impreza and Subaru Crosstrek 2023. Hopefully this will bring all sorts of improvements, in terms of weight loss, ride quality, efficiency, comfort, etc.
In addition to the new mechanisms, we also expect to see new patterns. At this point, it’s too early to go into details, but we’re sure most of the changes will be evolutionary. In other words, the overall look will remain the same, while the front end will only cause relatively minor changes. We don’t expect to see major changes in dimensions. The current model is about 105 inches long, while the overall length is just under 176 inches.
2023 Subaru Crosstrek Interior
Of course, a new cabin design is also expected. At this point, we don’t know the details, but we are counting on further improvements in terms of materials and overall quality. Naturally, the dashboard will look more modern, while we also rely on more technical features than before. The current model actually stands up well in this aspect, so we don’t expect to see any significant changes.
We are confident that these new models will continue to offer a high level of practicality and functionality. The current generation already has one of the largest cabins in its class, for both cargo and passenger space. Therefore, things can only get better in the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek.
2023 Subaru Crosstrek Engine
Big changes are also coming under the hood. From what we know so far, the 2.5-liter flat-top quad will continue to be offered, with an output of 182 horsepower. On the other hand, the current base engine, the 2.0-liter, will be replaced by a new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which is expected to have the same power but significantly more torque. Finally, we hope to see a hybrid version in the show as well.
All three engines will be paired with a CVT gearbox, and of course, all-wheel drive will be standard. At this point, it’s too early to talk about performance and fuel economy. The larger 2.5-liter engine will likely offer the same ratings as the current version, producing about 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
2023 Subaru Crosstrek Release Date And Price
We expect the all-new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek to hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022. It’s not expected to be any bigger, so the base version should be around $23,000. The competition in this segment is very tight. Some of the main players are models like Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V, etc.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Update
A new collection of spy shots gives the next generation Subaru Crosstrek an exceptional look. This is the first time we’ve seen the development of this little crossover since the video in early November. This crossover appears to have a production body under camouflage. There is a general similarity between this model and the current model but with important changes. The lower fascia now has a trapezoidal shape. The grille now has a vertical in the middle, and the grille has a wavy trapezoidal pattern. The headlights also seem to have a sharper style.
From the side, the shape of the greenhouse is similar to the current model. There are now air vents in the rear of the front wheel perimeter. The shape of the rear pillars and glass on the hatchback look sharper than the current Crosstrek. At the rear, the taillights feature a more defined arc shape on each side. The vertical port is on the rear bumper behind the wheels. We don’t have pictures of the new Crosstrek’s interior yet. Judging by the latest Subarus on the market, you might get a vertically-themed infotainment screen.
Subaru recently updated the Crosstrek for 2021 to offer an optional 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 hp (135 kW) and 176 lb-ft (239 Nm). We doubt this engine will carry over to the new model. No word yet on the future of the hybrid powertrain.
Subaru has already released details of the Crosstrek 2022 lineup, so don’t look for the new generation arriving until 2023. The whole curtain may be revealed next year. There is no information yet on whether the company intends to release the Wilderness variant of the Outback and Forester.
If you prefer an all-electric crossover from Subaru, Solterra is on its way to you. That makes a total of 215 hp (160 kW) and 248 lb-ft (336 Nm) of torque from the electric motors driving each axle. The 71.4 kWh battery pack provides an estimated range of more than 220 miles (354 km) on a single charge.

2022 Subaru Crosstrek News
We hope to present the first Crosstrek 2022 at Planet Subaru in February or March 2022. The arrival of the model has been delayed, We usually see next year’s model in the fall of the previous year, but the shortage of chips has had a huge impact on the global auto industry.
Subaru launched the current generation Crosstrek in 2013 (later called the XV Crosstrek), and introduced a new Crosstrek for 2018. There have been big changes…slightly increased in size and now uses a new platform with 40% better impact and absorption. In its mass productions, including the Crosstrek, Subaru typically introduces new models over a five-year production cycle. Take a look at how this course evolved at Crosstrek:
Historically, Subaru has made very few changes to the fifth year model of the product cycle. Changes made in the fourth year, known as “big little changes,” were carried over. Last year, Subaru introduced its first Sport Crosstrek model, with the first-ever 2.5-liter engine in a Crosstrek. Most customers find the standard 2.0-liter engine (currently 152 horsepower) convenient, but the new engine will satisfy those who want the extra power, including customers who tow or live in mountainous terrain. 2.5 liter engine produces 182 horsepower. Other sporty features include the popular Crosstrek alternative leather interior. Subaru has now also standardized the 2.5-liter engine on the Crosstrek Limited, a trim level that’s been available since the car was introduced for 2013.
And what about the new Wilderness model built for some serious off-roading? This hard-core Subaru extended family starts with the Outback and Forester. Including higher ground clearance, sturdy wheels with all-terrain tires, a more aggressive exterior design and approach/departure angles, durable Crosstrek interior upholstery, skid plates, a full-size spare tire, and more. You won’t see a 2022 Crosstrek Wilderness model, but we do expect to see one in 2023 although Subaru has yet to make an announcement confirming that.
