2023 Nissan GTR. According to Japanese automotive press, a new GT-R with the designation “R36” is presently in the works. Nissan is redesigning its flagship sports vehicle from the ground up. Looking back to the company’s history, Nissan draws influence from prior models while maintaining a forward-thinking attitude. Since the R35 platform’s first debut in 2007, Japanese automobile fans have enjoyed driving it on track and on the road with the feel and power of a true sports car.
The 14-year-old platform shows its age and is one of Nissan’s longest-running production cycle vehicles. Numerous repairs and upgrades over the years have kept the R35 afloat, but not for much longer. It’s time for more than just a facelift or new wheels, it’s time for a new model, and Nissan is working on the most powerful version of the Nissan GT-R.
2023 Nissan GTR Engine
Previous rumors suggest that Nissan is putting a mild hybrid engine under the hood that’s still up in the air, but a turbocharged petrol engine could also be used. However, amid stricter environmental regulations, Nissan’s main deciding factor hinges on the perfect balance between meeting emissions standards and designing a fast sports car. According to Philip Klein, Executive Director of Nissan Product Planning, Nissan plans to meet emissions regulations, but the driving experience remains a top priority. With engineers already working on the next GT-R, many configuration options will likely include hybrid, petrol-only and even all-electric versions, depending on what kind of powertrain options Nissan decides to offer.
The 2023 Nissan GTR won’t be landing in dealerships anytime soon due to the many challenges Nissan faces, such as meeting emissions regulations, powertrain research and development, full implementation of a new design, and final testing. Despite strict emissions and noise regulations, Nissan has maintained its roots and heritage by making one of the world’s fastest production sports cars while taking careful steps to reduce the harmful effects of carbon dioxide emissions. Nissan wanted to create a high-performance powertrain, including a heavily modified chassis, new components and a new suspension setup.
2023 Nissan GTR Design
There are no current images showing what the R36 GT-R will look like except for the large number of concept images available online. However, the Nissan Vision GT concept is likely to be the starting point for the new GT-R project. There’s a good chance the new GTR will get a wider grille, lower center of gravity, new track tires and futuristic headlights with new LED technology. The rear of the sports car is likely to retain the iconic dual rear combination lamps but has a more sophisticated and modern design. There is no information at this time about what Nissan has planned for the interior. However, the driver’s cabin is likely to come with modern technology, new safety features, vehicle monitoring systems and digital gauges.
2023 Nissan GTR Release Date And Price
Nissan plans to release a new 2023 Nissan GTR sometime in early 2023, but that could change depending on the timing of the car’s research and development. Before that, it’s likely to tease the Nissan R36 with a new image and a later debut date. Price numbers are not available until Nissan delivers a ready-made version for the near future.

2023 Nissan GTR Update
The Nissan GT-R, introduced in 2007, is ready to welcome its latest generation. The new GT-R is still planned to feature a powerful engine but with hybrid technology. As reported by Automotive News, Ashwani Gupta, chief operating officer of Nissan Motor Co., said the company is in the process of overhauling in the United States. The GT-R will be the affected model as it hasn’t undergone a major revision in a long time. According to the report, Nissan is working on a redesign of the GT-R that is slated for release in 2023. Not only that, Nissan is also studying a new performance-oriented hybrid powertrain for the GT-R. The engine appears to use kinetic energy recovery technology already used in Nissan’s Le Mans race car, the GT-R LM Nismo.
Previously, there was news that Nissan would not make the GT-R R36 a hybrid car. However, other news reveals that the current generation GT-R will continue to be sold until 2027. However, with so many internal factors involved, especially with Carlos Ghosn’s litigation rife, it is not surprising that many things influence the company’s decisions.
It looks like Nissan is starting to clean up and focus on the Japanese, Chinese and American markets. In America, Nissan implemented a 3-year plan to modernize its model lineup while increasing profits. The GTR has undergone many updates in its current life, including the latest GT-R50 from Italdesign. Unfortunately, the R35 GT-R is basically the same under the skin and it’s long overdue in the major redesign.
Will the next generation Nissan GT-R be a hybrid?
In a recent interview between Automotive News and Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta, it was confirmed that a new GT-R is in the works and that the company is considering creating a performance-oriented hybrid drivetrain.
The gist of this news is that Nissan can update the existing GT-R’s chassis, reduce weight, and reset the existing engine if desired, all without overdoing it. Additionally, the chassis can be updated to provide better control, a lower center of gravity and a smoother ride. At the same time, the engine could undergo a slight modernization to better comply with emissions regulations. KERS is likely where the power boost comes from restoring enough power during normal driving and track performance to add a better chunk of on-demand acceleration.
Nissan Gtr Engine
As a reminder, the current GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V-6 that puts out 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque in its base form, while the Nismo comes with very fine tuning. Push the same engine to 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque.
With the KERS system in the mix, the base model can see output approaching 600 horsepower. By comparison, Nismo can delve a little deeper into the territory of lightweight supercars with a power of up to 630 horsepower. Unfortunately, there will likely be some kind of price hike, but if Nissan does it right with current technology, the price increase will be minimal.
There is currently no official information on a 2023 release date, but our estimated price is “only” around JPY 40 million (AU$490,000). (Refers to the previous version).
Nissan GT-R R35 Final Edition Coming In 2022 With 710 HP
With the 370Z and GT-R, Nissan has two of the oldest performance cars on sale today. However, while the former will finally get an update later this month (well, at least in a prototype), the latter won’t be making the switch to the next generation anytime soon. In fact, a new report from the Japanese magazine Best Car Web says we won’t see it soon enough by 2023. It looks like the Godzilla R35 will come with 710 horsepower in 2022 when Nissan is rumored to present the final version.
He will be about 15 years old by then, and Swan’s song is expected to be a limited event limited to about 20 units. If that horsepower rating sounds familiar, it’s because the particular model is expected to use the same powertrain as the GT-R50 Italdesign and 575 pound-feet (780 Nm) of torque.
As you might remember, the GT-R50 uses a significantly upgraded version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6, later tuned by Nismo and equipped with a turbocharger from the GT-R GT3 race car specification. The powertrain offers a larger intercooler and high-flow fuel injector, along with a boost to the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and other key components.
Best Car Web magazine also reports that the GT-R R35 Final Edition will cost 40 million yen in Japan, equivalent to $377,300 at current exchange rates. That’s a lot more than the 2021 GT-R Nismo available in the US for $210,740, but it’s relatively cheap compared to the GT-R50 by Italdesign with its $1 million sticker price.
As always with GT-R reports, take the latest gossip with a pinch of salt. However, it makes sense for the R35 to fall behind with a solid version given the hardware already available. Outside of the R35, the next-generation model is widely believed to be electric in one way or another, possibly using a kinetic energy recovery system adapted from the GT-R LM Nismo race car used at Le Mans. Automotive News claims that the R36 could actually arrive in 2023.
Nissan GT-R V8 2022
The Nissan GT-R is an old model that has spent most of its life on a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. But Nissan can’t let it die without a V8 goose track model. Currently, the most powerful version has 600 hp straight from the Nismo version.
But Nissan takes power seriously, and by mid-2021, the Nismo will be releasing approximately 550 horsepower in North America and most European markets, and about 530 horsepower worldwide. This time around, the Nismo will be a lightweight, boneless, “beginner’s” trim — not a flagship model. It will be sold at 50% of the price of the V8 model. The V8 in question has a capacity of 5.6 liters and shares the same mass with the VK56VD engine.
The V8 has three turbos and will have two outputs. It comes standard with Newton power, producing 789 hp (588 kW, 800 hp) and 627 lb-ft of torque (850 Nm; 86.7 kg-m), and will also come with an optional cheaper ‘Eco Output’. This brings those numbers down to 671 hp (500 kW, 680 hp) and 596 lb-ft (807.5 Nm, 82.3 kg-m).
The 2023 model will release a six-speed manual for the Nismo and V8 models, and rear-wheel drive will only be available on the V8 via special request. In mid-to-late 2023, the short but exclusive 2024 model year will be offered in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles markets in the US.
Those performance numbers fall short of the 2021 Nismo’s results of 592-600 horsepower and 2.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. But the GT-R itself is old, so excuse the constant pessimism. Nissan has confirmed that it will renew the next generation sports sedan from the Nissan Z. Nissan has produced several exciting sports cars, such as the Nissan Silvia and the Nissan Skyline GT-R.
The GT-R generation is still around today, although it no longer uses the Skyline name in front of it. The latest Nissan GT-R R35 has been around since 2007 and has undergone several facelifts. But it seems that there must be a new generation in the future. So how did the R36 go? That’s what Nissan said.
“The goal of the upcoming GT-R is to be a machine with extremely reliable performance, just like the GT-R of today even after a few years on the market. “The leadership remains credible, fast and super powerful, and we’ll stay true to that,” said Ivan Espinosa, Nissan’s senior vice president of global product planning.
The Nissan GT-R R36 is rumored to have a more powerful version of the 3,800cc twin-supercharged V6. It will get a plug-in hybrid kinetic energy recovery system (KERS), which is estimated to produce 710 DK and maximum torque of 780 Nm. No wonder this car has always been called the Godzilla and has been dubbed the killer supercar.
“The GT-R, along with the Z and Patrol, are perhaps the three most recognizable brands and represent the brand we have as a company with a deep history within the company,” Espinosa added. Although there are plans to create a new generation of GT-R R36, its launch is still in question because there must be another development phase, especially since this is the first GT-R to use a hybrid platform. At least we can hope to see him in 2023.

Nissan Gtr 2023 Specifications
In terms of design, cars and trucks will undergo a number of modifications, related to market patterns and business product development. However, there are many other things to note about the Nissan GTR 2023.
2023 Nissan GTR Interior
The old version of the Nissan GTR is still iconic, and no one can say that it is old. The company specifies exotic colors as well as design before it is designed in the future. This time, the Nissan GTR was developed by Italdesign with an attractive model from the outside. As for the interior, the front component is expected to have more room for driver comfort.
In the country car, the Nissan is expected to be offered at around $377,300, or 40 million yen. Since we know the Nissan GTR is a sports car and truck with certain specs, it’s still pretty big. Another Nissan GTR variant, the GTR Nismo, has reduced sales levels from the GTR 35, which can be purchased for $210,000. This is a very low cost for a Nissan part.
Machine
The engine is somewhat the same as the previous model. She said they only updated the 3.8-liter engine as well as the V6 to boost the efficiency of the automatic and make it faster than before. For the upgraded engine, we also need to see that the expected powertrain will offer a larger intercooler combined with a six-speed automatic. Kinda nice to have it in the latest version.
Customize
The Nissan GTR has an easy-to-control speed that the driver can drive with ease. Unlike other sports cars, the Nissan GTR is placed in the middle position because it prioritizes acceleration. For the latest version, the Nissan GTR delivers 710 horsepower that can be pumped by simply adjusting the brakes. The wheels are expected to be more flexible, so you won’t feel like driving a sports car.
Nissan GTR 2023 Final Edition
Rumor has it that the Nissan GTR release date is in 2023 where the 15-year-old is sure to say goodbye. The company’s selection to create the final look of the Nissan GTR was carried out through several processes. While you wait for the official information for the new Nissan GTR to be released, you may need to save some money if you feel like buying one. It is a desire to own a limited edition Nissan GTR Epic 2023.
