2023 Mahindra Roxor Release Date Price And Redesign

2023 Mahindra Roxor. Although it is not highly recognized outside of India and the Asian market in general, Mahindra does sell some of its models in other countries. Furthermore, some of them are available in North America, where an Indian company produces a variant named Roxor. Surprisingly, it’s categorized as an off-road UTV, despite its general design resembling an old Willys Jeep. This model has been on the market for a while, and it appears that the firm will be making some changes to the Mahindra Roxor 2023.

From what we know so far, this new version will come with some interesting updates, especially in terms of style. Other than that, we didn’t expect to see any bigger changes. The drivetrain has been updated with a new transmission recently, so we don’t expect any changes in this aspect.

2023 Mahindra Roxor Design

As we just mentioned, Mahindra Roxor 2023 is coming soon with some new stuff. From what we know so far, the update will be mostly stylistically. The latest report indicates that this UTV will get a new grille design that features a more bulky look and black plastic. Other than that, we don’t expect to change next year’s model much.

The overall design will of course remain the same. Mechanically, this model shares many parts with the Mahindra Thar, a Wrangler-inspired SUV being sold in India. However, this UTV actually has a much simpler layout. This is not too far from the original Willys, in terms of technology and design solutions.

2023 Mahindra Roxor Interior

This is the aspect that best illustrates the nature of Roxor. Just look at the cabin and you’ll realize that not much has changed since World War II. The dashboard is very simple, with just a few switches and gauges. Also, you can see a lot of old parts, such as the steering wheel, gear descents, and similar things. The Indian company has never bothered to make this car look more modern, and we absolutely love it.

As mentioned earlier, this model is rated as a side-by-side and Mahindra Roxor 2023 will continue in the same way. This model can accommodate two people and is equipped with a small cargo bed behind the seat. Four seats are expected in the future as well.

2023 Mahindra Roxor Engine

2023 Mahindra Roxor is available with only one engine option. Interestingly, it is a diesel, which is not the type of engine we are used to seeing on a UTV. This model features an old-fashioned 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, which certainly doesn’t impress with numbers. It generates about 65 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque. It doesn’t sound like much but if we take into account the weight of the car, it turns out that this power is more than enough to comfortably move this car.

One of the things we love about this powertrain is that you have two transmission options. The base model comes with a decent 5-speed manual transmission, while you also get a fairly modern six-speed automatic, which does a really good job. When we talk about off-road vehicles, the standard two-speed transfer case seems normal.

In Asia, this model is listed as an SUV and can be paired with a 200-horsepower turbocharged engine from Mitsubishi.

2023 Mahindra Roxor Update

Indian automakers know very well that in most cases a little is more. It has a variety of SUV models in its portfolio and many of them are compact. Among them you can find a model called Roxor. A model so small that its North American version would be classified as a UTV if we can believe the latest reports. The company has officially announced the arrival of the Mahindra Roxor 2022 in North America. From what we can see, it will have some changes compared to the Indian model, especially in terms of style. However, officials remained silent about the details.

What we do know for sure is that there will be some unique style details. Some exclusive features and accessories are also possible. On the other hand, we didn’t expect to see any noticeable mechanical changes, including the powertrain.

2022 Mahindra Roxor Design

Regarding the basic design characteristics, there is not much to say about the Mahindra Roxor 2022. This model is directly inspired by the legendary Willys. The setup looks similar, while many of the mechanical parts are either the same or the same.

However, the North American version will come with some modifications. It mainly refers to the method. The company prepared a new front end, with a revised grille and several black plastic surfaces. For the North American market, the Mahindra Roxor 2022 will come in two variants. The base model will feature a single row of seats and a cargo bed in the rear, while a second row will be available as an option.

Mechanically, not everything will differ from the Indian market model. This means that you can count on all sorts of interesting devices, from standard all-wheel drive, locking differential, two-speed transfer cases, etc.

Outback

Inside, the Mahindra Roxor 2022 will feature a familiar design. As mentioned earlier, it will be offered in two different versions, with one or two rows of seats. The cabin design will come with a very minimalist design, with an old school layout that includes only a few gauges and a steering wheel on the dashboard. This dashboard design sure looks inspiring and we are sure most potential buyers will love it. For the North American market, the company may add some additional accessories, but officials are still holding out on the details.

Mahindra Roxor Engine 2022

This is one of the most exciting parts of the 2022 Mahindra Roxor. While most North American UTVs feature a small petrol engine, this model will have a large 2.5-liter turbodiesel. This engine has a maximum power of 65 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque, which doesn’t seem like much at all, but is actually enough to drive this small SUV with confidence.

The engine will be offered in pairs with two transmission options. You can choose a 5-speed automatic, or a 6-speed manual selection. In either case, a two-speed transfer case is standard.

2023 Mahindra Roxor News

Mahindra has not had a smooth journey to bring Roxor to market. The compact off-road SUV debuted in 2018, though the design landed in hot water with the Jeep. It looks very similar to the Jeep CJ. A legal battle ensued, and now we have a new, improved version for 2022. The front end is more common, although it should keep lawyers and lawsuits away.

Mahendra did not elaborate on the significant changes made to the model, as it appears unchanged except for the face. The new front has a single crossbar running across the grille, which is located in a rectangular slot with rounded corners between a pair of round headlights. The hood is now square, missing the taper that creates a pair of curved wheel holes that Jeep doesn’t really like.

The 2022 Roxor is available in two flavors: Base and All-Weather. Both use the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and a two-speed transmission. This engine produces only 62 horsepower (46 kW) but 144 lb-ft (105 Nm) of torque, making it ideal for serving ranches and ranches. All-wheel drive is standard, and it has a top speed of 55 mph (88 kph). It can tow up to 3,490 lb (1,583 kg) with a maximum towing speed of 15 mph (24 km/h).

According to the company, production of the 2022 Roxor is already underway, with the new model beginning to be shipped to dealers in the first week of this month. The Roxor is designed to compete with the side-by-side off-road vehicles from Polaris and others, although it won’t come cheap. The entry-level Roxor Base starts at $18,899, while the All-Weather variant starts at $26,299. All-Weather models get an enclosed cab, side mirrors, and other upgrades.
