The body of the current Genesis GV70 carries many of the different cues that the larger GV80 is proud of, including the distinctive front grille and quad double-layered headlights. The main difference between the GV70 and the GV80, apart from the obvious difference in size, is the sports treatment of the GV70. This includes a more rounded rear end, a longer hood, rebound cab, more prominent shoulders, and more. We expect this sharp design to remain unchanged in the GV70 2023.
Inside, the GV80’s cues continue with the GV70 that boasts the signature Genesis and unique dual-spoke steering wheel, a subtle wing-like instrument panel, and a clean setup. The current GV70 offers light metallic accents, available synthetic suede leather, carbon fiber panels and more. We hope that this cabin will remain the same as in the 2023 GV70.
On the tech side, the current GV70 includes a standard 14.5-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and more. In the 3.5T Sport Prestige, the GV70 comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. We expect the 2023 GV70 to have the same features as the current model.
Today’s GV70 is a standard turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, buyers can add a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 375 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. We expect powertrain options to remain the same in the 2023 GV70.
Safety equipment on the current GV70 includes automatic emergency braking, lane change assist, lane protection assist, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic warning, and more. Optionally, buyers can add Highway Driving Assistant 2, a semi-autonomous driving system. The IIHS has not tested the GV70 yet, but we expect the GV70 2023 to have the same safety gear.
There is no official sale date for the Genesis GV70 2023, but stay tuned. We expect the Genesis GV80 2023 price to stay close to the current model, which ranges from $42,045 to $63,545 (including destination costs).
