2023 Cadillac XT5. The Cadillac XT5 2023 will feature a completely new design. This high-end SUV is one of Cadillac’s most popular vehicles to date. It’s modest and lovely, and its popularity is growing. Surprisingly, according to the information we have, this second generation SUV will not be all electric, as many predicted.
In general, responsibility has been delegated to the recently launched Lyriq. Regardless, the new model will be based on an upgraded version of the existing C1 platform, dubbed the C1-2. As a result, we can expect the base engine to remain the same as the inline 2.0-liter turbo, while the optional engines will be either the old 3.6-liter V6 or the new 2.7-liter four-cylinder.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Design
The Cadillac XT5 is an attractive luxury SUV. According to reports, the automaker is working hard on developing a second-generation model. According to recent reports, the 2023 Cadillac XT5 will be revamped and will look even better than before.
The XT5 has been a popular choice among many SUVs since it was updated last year. However, competition has increased significantly, especially for the Genesis GV80. Aside from the redesigned grille, new headlights and smaller taillights, the 2023 XT5 will have a revamped C1 body. From what we have learned, the platform designation is C1-2.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Interior
The cab in the Cadillac XT5 2023 should be more modern, with more supportive seats. As previously reported, this SUV will have two rows of seats with a capacity of five people. The interior, in particular, is the automaker’s main focus, and the XT5 features upgraded materials. The result is more comfort, especially in the highest trim levels.
Moreover, compared to the previous generation, the new one has more standard features. There are power-adjustable front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and faux-leather seats. Furthermore, the XT5 will feature a 38-inch curved OLED display from Escalade, which is currently leading the way.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Engine
The next generation 2023 Cadillac XT5 will definitely use the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the current model. That output is powerful, producing 238 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. According to our sources, the optional engine will be either a 3.6-liter V6 or a new turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder.
All versions should include a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment, with an all-wheel drive option still available. We should heed GM’s recent statement that it will phase out combustion engine cars by 2035. As a result, we can expect the Cadillac XT5 to get electrified in the near future, similar to the Cadillac Lyriq.

The numbers look compact and attractive and sales continue to increase. Interestingly, from the information we have obtained, this second generation SUV will not be all-electric as many believe.
In general, the task was assigned to the newly introduced Lyriq. However, the new model will use an updated version of the existing C1 platform, aptly called the C1-2. Therefore, we can expect the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the base engine, while the optional engine will be the familiar 3.6-liter V6 or a new 2.7-liter turbocharged inline four.

The XT5 was updated last year, and it’s still a popular choice among many SUVs. However, competition has increased significantly, and by that we mean the Genesis GV80. In addition to the revised grille, new headlights and slimmer taillights, the 2023 XT5 will feature an updated version of the existing C1 platform. From what we’ve heard, the platform will be appropriately called C1-2.

This engine is powerful and produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. From what we hear, the optional engines are the familiar 3.6-liter V6 or the new 2.7-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder.
All variants will have to use a nine-speed automatic transmission as the only transmission, and all-wheel drive will again be optional. 2023 Cadillac XT5 News
The current generation of Cadillac midsize crossovers has been around since 2016 and it’s still a few years before we see a complete redesign. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that the Cadillac XT5 2023 will come without more significant changes, especially if we take into account last year’s update, which brought new features and some new design details. The best we can see next year is some new stuff in terms of standard equipment. Regardless, everything will remain the same.
All of this means you can count on a familiar design, in a crossover that still has some great things to offer. We love the spacious cabin, as well as the good fuel economy. The expected reliability rating is also excellent. On the other hand, the powertrain could be improved, as well as the chassis setup. This is where the XT5 lags behind the competition.
Given that no bigger changes are expected next year, we assume that the 2023 Cadillac XT5 may hit the market by the end of the year.
Cadillac XT5 2023. Engine
The Cadillac XT5 2023 will continue with the two familiar engine options on offer. The base model will continue with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces around 235 horsepower and delivers very good driving dynamics. An optional 3.6-liter 310-horsepower V6 will be offered in two stages. While the base Turbo-4 engine is more efficient, this one delivers better dynamics, runs smoother and sounds better. We prefer to use V6.
The base engine produces about 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway in terms of fuel economy. The optional V6 is good for around 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Both engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. This turns on time and does a good job overall.
Cadillac XT5 2023 Restyle
In terms of basic design characteristics, the Cadillac XT5 2023 will definitely not change. Even the last mid-cycle update was very subtle in this aspect, with the only major changes being the design and color of the new grille. Therefore, we don’t expect any visual changes for next year, be it mechanical tweaks.
Speaking of mechanics, this crossover is based on the famous design solutions of General Motors. It rides on the familiar C1 architecture and shares most of its parts with models like the GMC Acadia, including the wheelbase. The wheelbase is around 112.5 inches which is the main reason why this model offers plenty of room inside. We’ll cover that in a moment.
Changes in this aspect are also unexpected. The 2023 Cadillac XT5 will continue with the same styling, which offers some very good things. All in all, it saves a lot of space, as we already mentioned. Both rows offer plenty of legroom, which we also like in the front seats, which are supportive and very large. You can also count on adequate storage space. You can count on about 30 cubic feet behind the second row and 63 cubic feet of total volume, which is pretty average for a class.
XT5 looks very luxurious and good in terms of interior quality. The materials are mostly good, although there are some areas with cheap materials and hard plastic. While the overall quality looks good, we have to say that most of the competitors are better in this aspect. Models like the Lincoln Nautilus have a slightly better fit.
We wouldn’t be surprised if we see some new standard features in the 2023 Cadillac XT5, but most things should remain the same. The list of standard equipment should include such items as an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 8-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, Wi-Fi hotspots, dual-zone automatic climate. control etc. The list of options includes three-zone climate control, a sunroof, wireless device charging, navigation, a Bose 14-speaker audio system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
When it comes to safety features, the current model comes standard with a rearview camera, seat safety alert, forward collision warning, front automatic emergency brake, front pedestrian brake, front and rear parking sensors, lane assist, and lane departure warning. On top of that, you get things like Head-Up Display, Night Vision Assist, Rear Camera Mirror, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Automatic Reverse Emergency Braking, a camera system Surround parking. We don’t expect bigger changes here.
Cadillac XT5 2023 Release Date And Price
We hope to see the 2023 Cadillac XT5 later in the year. Since there are no bigger changes coming, the price will remain largely the same. Current models start at about $45,000.
