2023 Aston Martin DBX. The much-anticipated Aston Martin DBX 2023 receives yet another improvement. This ultra-stylish, high-performance SUV is completely set for the next adventure. Of course, the ultimate aim is to outperform the Lamborghini Urus in every manner. The DBX is quick and stylish. Another objective for Aston Martin is to sell 5,000 cars each year.
This is a priority for the manufacturer, so a completely new version of the AMR will go on sale. Additionally, the DBX model will also offer a hybrid variant. Overall, this model gets a lot of cosmetic upgrades, internal updates, and efficiency improvements. Sales will begin later in 2022.
2023 Aston Martin DBX Interior
Most of the DBX switchgear is shared with the rest of the Aston Martin family. The interior of the Aston Martin DBX 2023 is upholstered in fine-stitched leather with a soft-touch surface and micro-front headliner. The SUV has a 12.3-inch digital display, adjustable ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, and heated front and rear seats as standard.
Optional features include ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a choice of more luxurious interior materials. The back seat space is ample, with plenty of knee and head room for adults. Plus, there’s plenty of storage capacity, 22 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Unfortunately, we don’t know how many updates will be included in 2023MY.
2023 Aston Martin DBX Engine
The 2023 Aston Martin DBX is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine from Mercedes-AMG. The engine produces 542 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. In addition, the engine is equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Whereas the DBX is primarily rear-wheel drive, when rear axle slip is detected, torque is transmitted to the front axle via a central transfer case. Additionally, the vehicle features a rear limited-slip differential capable of towing up to 6000 pounds. Once again, the goal is to rival the Lamborghini Urus and its 641 hp engine. Thanks to it, it is quite possible to increase the performance. There is a new hybrid powertrain.
It combines a 3.0-liter turbo or supercharged engine with an electric motor. This version should produce around 450 horsepower. However, the plug-in hybrid alternative is the real deal. The DBX PHEV will produce up to 603 horsepower, using the powerful AMG-E Performance powertrain. Additionally, the electric motor will add 200 hp, making the DBX PHEV produce 800 hp. The Aston is equipped with adaptive dampers and height-adjustable air springs – a feature for off-road adventures.
2023 Aston Martin DBX Release Date And Price
The upcoming 2023 Aston Martin DBX SUV will cost around $180,000 or more. After all, it’s an easily customizable SUV that has a lot to offer. The DBX offers multiple appearance packages, interior color schemes, and exterior enhancements such as Bronze Stripe alloy wheels. Sales will begin next summer, with the PHEV hitting dealerships in 2022. More details will be revealed by Aston Martin in the coming months.
2023 Aston Martin DBX Update
Aston Martin has been promising a faster version of the DBX since launching the regular version, and it’s definitely here. Based on the manufacturer’s claims, the new 2023 DBX 707 will be the fastest-performing SUV on the market, with Aston CEO Tobias Moyers saying the company hopes to prove it by setting a matching record at the Nürburgring.
The DBX 707 is positioned above the standard DBX, which will continue to be sold alongside, and power has been greatly boosted thanks to an upgraded version of the AMG 4.0-liter V-8 that Aston says is largely built in-house. The engine uses a new ball bearing turbocharger and revised calibration to increase output to 697 horsepower (“707” stands for metric horsepower). That’s 155 horsepower more than the regular DBX and means that the DBX 707 beats the likes of the 626 hp Bentley Bentayga W12 Speed, the 641 hp Lamborghini Urus and even the 670 hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo SE Hybrid. Moers admits that Porsche was Aston’s record target when he presented the new car to reporters.
The DBX 707’s torque output has also increased, with a new peak of 663 lb-ft. The 707 replaces the conventional DBX’s nine-speed automatic transmission with a faster nine-speed AMG gearbox with a wet clutch package in place of the torque converter. This will allow for faster gear changes and start-up control, with a shorter final drive ratio meaning the 707 is claimed to be capable of 3.1 seconds of sprinting to 60 mph. This will link our results to the Lamborghini Urus, the fastest SUV we’ve ever tested.
Given the unexpected level of performance, and Moers’ desire to shine on the Nürburgring, it’s no surprise that the DBX 707 has standard carbon-ceramic brakes with large 16.5-inch rotors at the front and 15.4-inch discs at the rear. 22-inch wheels will be standard and 23-inch optional. You’ll wear Pirelli tires, but Moers says any attempt to break the Nürburgring 7:38.9 times from the Cayenne Turbo S will use more aggressive track siding rubber: “At the end of the day that’s tire testing.”
Outside of the new wheels, the DBX 707’s visual differences include a larger front bumper with a larger front grille, darkened windows throughout the chrome trim, and a large diffuser element at the rear with four exhaust tips. The interior gets new sports seats, though the regular DBX comfort seats will still be a no-cost option, plus a revised center console with a rotating gear selector. There are also new hot-switches for various drive modes in the lower console, which means the driver does not need to use the infotainment system to change the adaptive suspension, stability control, active exhaust system and gearbox settings.
While the DBX 707 still uses Aston’s existing infotainment system, which is based on Mercedes’ last-generation STAR architecture, Moers also promises development of a custom Aston user interface is in progress. “We can’t change the navigation system, it takes time, but we make a bespoke navigation system and HMI for Aston without Mercedes anymore,” he promised.
Moers was also optimistic about the DBX 707’s sales prospects, believing the 707 could account for about 60 percent of total DBX sales. This is despite its $235,086 price tag which makes it more than $50,000 more expensive than a regular car. Production will begin before the end of the first quarter of 2022.
2023 Aston Martin DBX News
The Aston Martin DBX went into production last summer and after just one year, it already accounts for more than half of the brand’s global sales. It’s clear that SUVs are the key to Aston’s future success and stability, and CEO Tobias Moers is well aware of this fact. In a recent interview, he acknowledged a number of additional DBX derivatives in the next three years to keep demand high.
Speaking to Motor Trend, Moers confirmed that the first new version will be released before the end of the year in the form of a mild hybrid DBX. It’ll use a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder electric motor mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
Next year, the DBX family will be expanded with the addition of a performance-oriented model. However, it will not be an AMR-branded car, as “we will not use AMR as a brand because there is no need for a sub-brand because Aston Martin is a high-performance brand.” The powertrain will be complemented by a hybrid version in 2023 using a V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG.
But it wouldn’t just be new powertrain options, as Moers admits that Aston Martin needed “a different body style, more performance, more aggressive styling, things like that.” If we had to translate a collaborative language, Moers is probably referring to a possible “coupe” version of the DBX and other body styles. Most likely, we will see new additions in 2023 and 2024.
Altogether, Aston Martin will offer customers five or six versions of the DBX by 2024. There have been rumors of a seven-seat model, and Moers hinted at this by saying, “You can think of it being more luxurious and more spacious and lively you can think of. Be more sporty.” With over 1,500 shipments in about 12 months, and many additional variants to come, the DBX is sure to remain the brand’s most important model in terms of sales.
