Peugeot hasn’t changed much inside the new 5008, so it gets the same roomy design, a low-profile steering wheel, and an array of gorgeous piano-like metal keys on the dashboard. The 12.3-inch high-mount instrument cluster is no larger than the old vehicle’s screen, but the center touch screen has been increased from eight to 10 inches on all but the base models.
Some new trimmings are available for the new Peugeot 5008, depending on the model you choose. Most noticeable are the Nappa red leather seats and door inserts in linden wood with chrome accents found on GT models.
Like the old car, the new Peugeot 5008 seats seven as standard. Peugeot has changed nothing when it comes to interior dimensions, so the rear seats are kid-friendly and should be roomy enough for adults on short trips.

The new 5008 can be purchased with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as the previous model. For starters, there’s a 1.2-liter, 130-horsepower three-cylinder petrol engine that comes with a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. There is also a four-cylinder, 180 hp 1.6-liter petrol engine that includes an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
There is also a pair of four-cylinder diesel engines to choose from. The cheapest will be the 130 hp 1.5-liter engine that comes with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. There is also a more powerful 2.0-liter engine with 180 hp and is only available with an automatic gearbox. Unlike the smaller 3008, you can’t have a Peugeot 5008 as a hybrid.

The new Peugeot 5008 will come with a night vision system option for the first time. This uses a front infrared camera to help detect and display cyclists, pedestrians and large animals on the digital driver display.
You can also get it with improved adaptive cruise control that will maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, even in parked traffic. It is available on all 5008 cars with automatic transmission as part of the Drive Assist Plus Pack. You also get the 5008 with Lane Keeping Assist, traffic light recognition, and automatic emergency braking that operate up to 86 mph.

In the Active Edition, the Peugeot 5008 comes with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors, a 12.3-inch digital display, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Adding an Active Pack option gives you foldable exterior rearview mirrors, Apple CarPlay mirror and Android Auto for smartphones, front parking sensors, and a rear camera.
Gravity Edge comes with the same basic equipment as the Active Cars, but it adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, tinted glass, and a 10-inch touchscreen with an integrated navigation system. An optional upgrade to the Allure Pack adds keyless access, ambient interior lighting, and a passenger seat that reclines completely to allow you to carry long luggage outside the trunk.
Choose the high-spec GT edition. The 5008 comes with a black painted roof, full LED headlights and additional driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control. The optional GT package adds 19-inch alloy wheels, an electrically opening trunk lid, a more robust focus stereo and massageable front seats.
If you are not a fan of the chrome trim on the 5008, you can exchange it in the glossy black as part of the “Black Package”. This gives you a black grille, black “Peugeot” and “5008” badges, black roof rails and a set of black 19-inch wheels.
Price and release date of the new Peugeot 5008 2021
The new Peugeot 5008 will go on sale in Europe at the end of 2020 and should appear in UK showrooms shortly thereafter. Peugeot has not announced the cost, but it expects to save around £ 30,000 for a base 1.2-liter petrol model. A high-spec GT cars with a 2.0-liter diesel engine could cost more than £ 42,000.

We’re talking about roughly 112 inches of wheelbase, which is enough to ensure there’s plenty of space inside, but we’ll get to that in a moment.
Interior changes are also numerous. First of all, there is a new board design. While many things remain the same, the new digital instrument cluster makes the dashboard look completely different. It offers very cool graphics and definitely makes everything look more elegant. The same goes for the new 10.1 inch touchscreen in the center console, which looks great and runs really fast. Another nice touch is the addition of brushed aluminum.

As for the interior space, things remain the same. This model offers two spacious and comfortable rows of seats and is one of the rare models that can accommodate three adults in the second row. The third row is relatively narrow, but typical for the class.

Another thing we have to mention about the 2021 Peugeot 5008 is the addition of new safety features. All models now come standard with features such as adaptive cruise control, traffic light recognition, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, night vision system and more.
Powertrain
The 2021 Peugeot 5008 comes with many changes, but the engine lineup remains the same. So you can count on four family units, two petrol and two diesel engines, with the same amounts of power. The offer starts with a 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder petrol engine, valued at around 130 hp. The 1.5L HDi engine delivers significantly the same power and more torque.
