2022 Alpina XB7. The 2022 Alpina XB7, one of the world’s most powerful SUVs, has been unveiled. The three-row BMW X7 SUV was turned into a beast by BMW expert “Alpina.” This model is elegant, dependable, and robust. The latest Alpina XB7 will be powered by the same engine that drives the powerful xDrive50i, according to the manufacturer.
Thanks to that, Alpina delivers amazing performance and comes with a larger turbo and an updated cooling system, which helps it deliver 612 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Officially, this is the most powerful version of the BMW X7.
2022 Alpina XB7 Design
The most powerful 2022 Alpina XB7 SUV looks amazing. Compared to the BMW X7, the new XB7 offers a sportier appearance. In fact, the front end is more aggressive and we can see that the radiator grille looks a little smaller than the BMW model. This is the first thing that stands out (not to mention the kidneys). Once you see this model, you will realize that it is not a standard X7. On the other hand, this model comes with standard 21-inch wheels that are optionally interchangeable with larger 23-inch wheels and a 20-spoke Alpina design. Moreover, the four-piston Brembo blue brake calipers give it a sporty look.
At the rear, this model looks incredibly sporty thanks to the dual stainless-steel air vents integrated into the rear diffuser. Finally, the Air Wing is crafted in the distinctive Alpina style and gives it more aggressiveness on the back.
2022 Alpina XB7 Interior
When it comes to interior design, the latest 2022 Alpina XB7 looks amazing. As mentioned, the new model is based on the X7 and you can expect the same interior. Like the regular model, the XB7 is a three-row SUV that will have enough room to carry seven (or optionally six passengers).
For starters, the new high-end SUV will use exclusive leather and unique materials with all Alpina logos, instead of BMW. Upon entering, one can find heated seats, a soft door closing system, a cabin with suitable leather upholstery, Merino leather upholstery, Alcantara, a three-pane panoramic glass roof, etc. Unlike the BMW X7, the new Alpina will come with a full suite of driver assistance systems. .
2022 Alpina XB7 Engine
The upcoming Alpina XB7 2022, as we have said, is based on the BMW X7 SUV. Also, both models will use the same 4.4-liter V8. However, the XB7 will be more powerful and use a twin scroll turbocharger that delivers 90 HP more power than the X7. Total horsepower is 620 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Also, we have to mention that this is the first Alpina to use additional water coolers and a larger transmission oil cooler.
Unlike the xDrive50i which sends power through an 8-speed automatic transmission, the XB7 will use an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and Switch-Tronic paddles. However, like the xDrive50i, this model will come standard with four wheels and an active integrated steering system. The XB7 is also a very fast SUV. This model is capable of running from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 180 mph.

Alpina entered the full-size SUV segment for the first time with the introduction of the new XB7 based on the BMW X7 on Tuesday.
US deliveries are confirmed to start in September, and the arrival of the XB7 will also mark the first time Alpina has shown an SUV in these parts.
XB7 arrives as the 2022 model and starts at $ 142,295, including destination. That’s just under the $ 142,695 price tag for the full-size B7 sedan based on the 7-Series Alpina.
The XB7 is powered by BMW’s popular 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, with a maximum output of 612 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. That should provide a huge performance jump compared to the BMW X7 M50i, which has 523 hp and 553 lb. Alpina cites a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds, a top speed of 180 mph, and a quarter mile time of 12.6 seconds. It’s crazy when you think we’re talking about a full-size three-row SUV.
The engine is mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission used in the X7, albeit with enhancements designed to handle the extra torque while providing faster transmission and all-wheel drive. The limited slip differential on the rear axle improves handling at the maximum.
Alpina engineers also worked on the X7’s air suspension. Modifications include specific modifications to the rear shock absorbers, stabilizer bars and bushings, as well as reinforcements in the struts to increase body rigidity. Depending on driving conditions, the XB7’s suspension can also raise or lower the vehicle by up to 1.6 inches.
21-inch wheels are standard on each axle, but if you want the classic 20-spoke Alpina design you will need to use the available 23-inch wheels. However, Pirelli summer tires are standard equipped. The stopping power comes from a Brembo brake package consisting of rotors 15.5 inches in the front and 15.7 inches in the rear. The calipers feature a blue four-piston design with the Alpina logo.
Compared to the regular X7, the XB7 looks perfect thanks to Alpina’s signature features such as horizontal slats on the front fascia, a full range of aerodynamics, and quad exhaust tips. Unique treatments carry through to the cabin, where you’ll find glass accents on the gear stick, Alpina badges and the Alpina sport steering wheel. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster also displays the Alpina logos, in addition to the XB7’s own displays.
The XB7 will be produced at the same plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the X7 was manufactured.
If it proves popular, Alpina could stick to the B8 based on the 8 Series Gran Coupe, a model Alpina has said it has been considering. Basically, the car will fill the void on the previous Alpina B6 Gran Coupe.

Our huge SUV dreams come true when the Alpina XB7 joins BMW’s X7 model line in September. The high-performance Alpina XB7 sits above the X7 M50i and serves as a crossover SUV alternative to the Alpina B7 sports car.
The BMW crossovers with the Alpina badge features model-specific exterior markings such as large bumper inserts and a modest lip spoiler. At the rear, the XB7 features small diffuser fins in the middle of the bumper. The crossover also rolls on standard 21-inch wheels that are wrapped in summer or all-season rubber. Optional 23-inch wheels are available paired with a range of high-performance Pirelli summer tires. Four-piston Brembo calipers with blue and white Alpina logos stick to the massive 15.5-inch front rotors.
Under the hood is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 that produces 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. That means nine more horses than the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 groupset in his stable. The ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with buttons mounted on the wheels of Alpina ponies sends to all four wheels.
BMW claims the XB7 accelerates to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and overtakes the quarter-mile mark after 12.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the top speed is 180 mph. The stainless steel Active Exhaust System adjusts exhaust pipe noise from mild in comfortable mode to proud in Sport mode. Other modes include Comfort Plus and Sport Plus.
Standard air suspension on the Alpina XB7 provides the power to lift the 1.6-inch crossover at speeds of under 19 mph. Meanwhile, exceeding 100 mph in Sports mode automatically reduces the crossover by 0.8 inch. It crossed the 155 mph threshold and the ride height fell another 0.8 inch.
The XB7 features standard features such as plush leather seats, soft doors, a leather instrument cluster, a suede headliner and a massive panoramic sunroof. If that’s not good enough, the optional LED ceiling with lights that mimic a starlit sky, yes please, should finish the deal when it comes to petty luxuries. Additional stylish interior touches include the Lavalina sport steering wheel in leather, the glass crystal iDrive control with laser-engraved Alpina logo, illuminated Alpina door sills, and numerous Alpina badges throughout.
The three-row long haul truck accommodates six or seven passengers, depending on the choice of the second row (three-row rear seat or a pair of bucket seats). Maximum storage capacity is 90.4 cubic feet, while standard safety features include blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward and rear collision warning, and more.
Large, elegant and powerful, the Alpina XB7 2022 is BMW’s full-size crossover SUV. Like its shade, the $ 142,295 XB7 is pretty hefty. However, if you can make that kind of money you’d better give BMW a seal, as the company is currently accepting orders for the powerful XB7.
