2021 GMC Sierra 1500. Diesel power is again becoming popular with truck drivers. Leading manufacturers have met all of the standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency and now we’re seeing a new dimension of competition between GM, Ford and FCA. While its more famous brother can also be called a twin, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is in the limelight, and the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel will offer the same performance with a different design.
Both GM twins use the same engine built by Duramax. It is able to deliver a large amount of torque, which turns into a large traction. The diesel unit will be available in five trim levels. Certainly two of the most impressive versions are the AT4 Off-Road Vehicle and the Denali Premium Package.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel Specs
Duramax and General Motors have a really fruitful partnership. The Medium-sized Wadi is the best mid-size truck to tow thanks to its 2.8 liter diesel unit. Now, the manufacturer is responding to the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 challenge and delivers turbo diesel stations for the full-size truck.
The 3.0-liter I6 is the most powerful of the three units, producing 277 horsepower and 460 pounds of towing capacity. Converted to a towing capacity of just 9,100 pounds. We say “singly” because your opponents can pay more. Fuel economy averages 26 mpg and the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 diesel can achieve 30 mpg on the highway but if you choose four-wheel drive, the truck consumes 24 mpg combined. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
The highlight of the lineup is the excellent truck package. The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel Denali will offer more advantages than any other model on the market at an affordable price. The MultiPro tailgate is the new system that continues to impress truck drivers. The Denali kit also includes dual tubes and an adaptive ride control system. However, the reason for purchasing this edition is the excellent interior design with the latest infotainment system. The 8 ” screen is a station where you can control the sound of Bose. The company has thought about safety and the Sierra Denali comes with Blind Spot Alert and cruise control. Optionally, you can choose a huge HUD with a rear camera mirror. GM’s latest addition is the HD Surround Vision trailer system.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel AT4
It still can’t compete with the Ford Raptor and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, but the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel AT4 package can do some off-roading. The company lifts the truck 2 inches so you don’t have to do it in the aftermarket. Special additions to this version are Rancho shocks and the off-road suspension. The truck also has skid plates to protect the underside of the body. Once again there are the dual exhaust pipes and the AT4 package gets the auto-lockable rear differential.
A special bed liner with the model logo is installed. Vertical recovery hooks can be very useful in challenging situations. The leather interior makes the trip even more relaxing. The 2021 Sierra 1500 Diesel AT4 also offers some nice upgrades, similar to the premium Denali. Unique additions are the CarbonPro and MultiPro audio bed.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Update
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 takes an all-new look in 2019 thanks to a complete redesign that includes a bold grille, new headlights, smooth sheet metal on the sides and a completely revamped rear over the new chassis. Although there is an early soda rattling that has reached the 2021 2021 Sierra, we expect it to be a build. As a carryover model, we expect the 2021 GMC Sierra to hit showrooms with the same thick nose as the carmakers offered in 2019. This includes a large different grille at each trim level, C-shaped LEDs, and more.
If there is to be a revamp, we expect the body to remain largely intact, as GMC will shift most of its focus to decorating the cabin. On the inside, the new-generation Sierra 1500 delivers a more angled dash with a striking center console that features an almost “X” shape. The dashboard also includes two gloveboxes, angled air vents, chunky HVAC buttons, and a bold steering wheel. We hope this continues in the 2021 Sierra.
Under the hood, the Sierra 1500 currently has a wide range of engines, starting with the 285-liter V6 with 4.3 horsepower. Next is the 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 310 hp. Entry into the V8 region starts with two 5.3L units producing 355hp each or a 6.2L capacity of 420hp. Complementing the lineup is a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with a 6-liter capacity of 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. We expect this powertrain option to remain the same for the 2021 Sierra 1500.
Like many trucks, safety is not the prerogative of the 1500 Sierra. It struggles with a “marginal” rating in the IIHS “minor passenger side accident” and a “bad” rating in the headlight test. Modest results keep him away from the controversial Top Safety selection. However, the automatic emergency braking system is rated “premium” but is only available as an option on SLT, AT4 and Denali models. On the plus side, GMC plans to introduce standards for automatic emergency braking on nearly all of its vehicles starting with the 2021 model year, and there is an opportunity to include the Sierra 1500 in that group.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Interior
In August 2019, the General Motors Authority was the first to report GM plans to perform various interior upgrades to the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado. We mentioned in the report that the update will arrive in 2021 or 2022. Now, we know that the renewal will not come for 2021, but for 2022. The updates will be synchronized with an update known in GM’s terminology called the Medium Cycle Increase (MCE), which will also provide some minor updates from outside.
Meanwhile, interior upgrades will focus on the mid and high trim levels of each vehicle, although all models should benefit from the update. Interior upgrades on the Silverado HD and Sierra HD should follow about a year later, with the lightweight Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. Silverado versions should follow the off-road ZRX during the same period.
Since its launch in the second half of 2018 as the 2019 model, the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra pickup truck has come under fire due to its interior design that is not much different from the last K2 model. Meanwhile, others praised the interior of the Ram Pickup, which is also completely new for the 2019 model year, as it is more attractive and luxurious than the Silverado and Sierra.
Meanwhile, others provided different interior views of the Sierra and Silverado, suggesting that the cabin of a GM pickup truck has just arrived. Additionally, our sources told us that the interior upgrade will use the all-new 2021/2021 Chevrolet Suburban Chevrolet Tahoe cab and 2021 GMC Yukon, while remaining like a truck. It should also be noted that the upcoming GMC Hummer EV will debut in 2021 for the year 2022. As such, upcoming updates to the interior of the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado EV are likely to benefit from GM’s first electric pick-up cabin.

The price has not been confirmed either, but if it is rolling over, or even if there is a minor refresh, we don’t expect a major change from the current MSRP range of $ 31,195 to $ 60,095.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 News
The 2021 GMC Sierra has been reported to come with an updated interior. It was previously rumored that GM would upgrade the interiors of its full-size pickup trucks. Includes upcoming Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500. It has to be related to negative responses previously received.
It’s no secret that GM trucks have gotten a lot of negative feedback from various outlets regarding their interiors that haven’t improved for years. That’s why it’s finally coming with something new for the upcoming Sierra and Silverado.
There are several reasons why the previous Sierra and Silverado did not offer anything great in terms of interior design. The launch of the Ram was said to be the main reason why the in-house carmaker was designed this way.
At the time, GM attempted to respond to the launch of the Ram 1500, speeding up production of its truck. As a result, the previous Sierra and Silverado did not have the distinct interiors they deserved. But, it will be paid for by the interior design of the 2021 GMC Sierra.
2021 GMC Sierra interior redesign
Unlike the previous year’s model, the interiors of the upcoming GMC Sierra were not completed quickly. Also, it was supposed to be the start of the all-new GM pickup trucks, so it was meant to be cool and attractive to modern buyers.
Another reason GM is eager to revamp its truck interior. This is due to some clinical data from clients. Customers were said not to be looking for a larger center display than they had previously been in GM trucks.
For the upcoming GMC Sierra, you can expect a revamped center console designed near a larger infotainment screen. The space around this center console can also be revised to take full advantage of the new interior look.
Also, the GMC Sierra 1500 can come with some small updated details in terms of fit and finish to enhance the overall look of your interior. Meanwhile, Sierra HD may receive revised interior details at a later time. But we don’t expect it to be closer to the Sierra 1500.
Certainly some updates to the interiors of the upcoming Sierra 1500 would be a good thing for the automaker, especially given its competition with Ram and Ford in this segment. As we know, both Ram and Ford have equipped their trucks with a 12-inch infotainment screen.
External face lift
While you might expect something nice from the internal updates, the other elements may still be the same. As for the exterior, there will be an impressive array of colors. You can expect some colors like Smokey Quartz Metallic, Summit White, Onyx Black, and Cardinal Red.

Additionally, you should also expect better LED lighting technology. Meanwhile, the GMC MultiPro tailgate will remain the same. It will provide six different purposes designed to increase merchandise availability. This function will also be compatible with the car manufacturer’s audio system.
You can also continue to see the monochromatic look that the current Sierra offers in the next model. 20-inch black wheels and keyless entry are again standard on the New Sierra. The Crew Cab Edition should be available again for the next Sierra.
Engine specifications and features
Under the hood, the new Sierra will run the same 2.7-liter turbo engine as the standard powertrain. The 2021 GMC Sierra engine is capable of 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. GM will pair this engine with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Additionally, you can also expect a 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel I6. In terms of speed, this engine could be less than the standard option. However, the 2021 could make the Sierra more powerful on the trailer thanks to its 460 lb-ft of torque.
You can choose an electronically controlled 10-speed gearbox if required. This optional transmission matches the transmission control system to your advantage. It also promises better handling and advanced cooling, especially when installing the Sierra towing or towing.
Additionally, you can also expect a long list of features that the new Sierra has to offer. When it comes to safety features, every seat in the New Sierra must be equipped with airbags. The 2021 Sierra also features a Bed View and Park Assist camera.
